Here's exactly everything you want in a vintage pickup. This 1949 Studebaker was stylish when new, and there has been a ton invested to make it quite unique today. Plus, underneath the attractive style is a powerful fuel-injected heart and a more modern chassis that's easy to service. Showing up in a Studebaker pickup is already an experience. After all, the fellas from South Bend produced far less than the Detroit guys. This outsider prospective allowed them to be more... aware of styling, and helped in building some of the best looking trucks on the road. The curvy cab, sculpted rear fenders, and upright box have a sturdy and stylish appeal like a pair of designer jeans - and this one goes even further on the flair scale. The modern metallic green paint instantly commands attention, and if that doesn't work, the bright yellow steel wheels can catch eyes from across a show field. But more than just an investment in paint, this is a fantastically coordinated effort with plenty of brightwork. The bold hood ornament, bright bumpers, and even the wheel trim rings are all part of a package that instantly tell you this is a thoughtful build. Need more evidence? Look in the truck bed. Not only do the walls have a nice shine, but also the lumber has been given a green stain finish to have a cool coordinating effect with the bold exterior paint. Inside this modern and vintage combination continues. It starts with the custom tan interior that utilizes a more modern bench seat with bucket-like sculpting for better individual comfort. The coordinating door panels, headliner and even carpet piping are just part of the uniform presentation. The classic dashboard is still in place, and the wood utilized here gives this truck a nice old-school touch. But within this lumber are helpful upgrades like a full Dolphin gauge package. Studebaker made some fine engines, but when you want nice power and parts availability, nothing beats a Ford 5.0. This fuel-injected V8 looks great in the engine bay with its unmistakable upper intake, and there's even an aluminum radiator w/electric fan to keep this more modern powerplant running cool. The full package even gives a nice sound out of the dual exhaust that tells the world about its power without being too boisterous. Plus, the four-speed automatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive also came over from the donor car - a smooth-shifting Lincoln. This easy cruising attitude is furthered by the suspension. It's actually riding on a Chevy S10 chassis, which means you get great driving features that weren't in a '49 Studebaker like an independent front suspension, power steering, and front disc brakes. Distinct looks with a powerful heart that's easy to keep on the road - this Studebaker really delivers on everything you want in a great and useful classic. So when the price is this affordable, you know it's going to be gone soon. Call today!!!
