1925 Studebaker Special Six Additional Info:

1925-26 Studebaker Special Six Duplex Phaeton, engine number EQ36554. I purchased this car from the Hackenberger Studebaker collection last year. Mr. Hackenberger told me that he bought the car and 2 other Special Six sedans from a doctor in Atlanta in the early 80s. The doctor had begun restoring this car but lost interest. It has been stored indoors since then, untouched. It appears to have been a nice original car prior to the restoration.

The chassis has been stripped and painted, wheels refinished, and most of the body wood is new and apparently well done. Engine is clean but I have no records if it has been rebuilt or not.

Some accessories like lights, fenders, door handles, hubcaps, gauges, steering wheel, etc are missing. The carburetor, starter, valve covers, fan, etc are missing from the engine. I have a pallet load of other parts that are included - please see list below.

The body is rust free except for some pinholes around the rear wheel openings. Cowl bottoms have been patched and there are patch panels included for the missing metal sections of the body sills. Bottoms of the rear wheel wells have been patched but the work isn't pretty. Doors open and close properly.

There is a lot of refinished/new wood included like the seat bases, floor boards, firewall, and more. There's also a lot of extra pattern wood that probably came from the sedan parts cars.

Some nickel has been refinished but has tarnished in storage - radiator shell, windshield frame, steering column tube, robe rail, dash trim, etc.

There are 4 side curtains that look so nice they may be NOS. (3 sides and one rear?)

Other parts included:

extra windshield frame, disassembled

2 dash panels, one open car, one closed car, plus the gauge mounting panel (no gauges)

2 front floorboards with aluminum plates, 2 rear floorboards

stack of seat springs

front fender braces

decorative wood trim for interior (sedan?)

fender aprons/frame covers (several sets)

spare steering box and control rods

interior felt trim pieces (sedan?)

The duplex roof is in good condition and is partially restored. The windshield pillars are included.

I have a clear Ohio title. Please note, on the title the car is listed as "1925 Studebaker President" and the serial number is "1091493", which is the engine casting number. There is a clear engine stamping "EQ36554" near the distributor and no other ID tags on the body, so it seems like someone just used the wrong engine number when titling the car. I was able to put the title in my name without any issues.

The car is located in Amelia, Ohio, 45102, just east of Cincinnati. Buyers are welcome to view the car by appointment. Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I can hold the car for up to a month if it is paid for in full after the auction.

Thanks for looking!
