In 1947 Studebaker completely redesigned the Champion and the Commander, making them the first new cars after WW2. The all new postwar 1947-49 Studebaker Commander Coupe & Convertible represent Studebaker in it's most glamorous and pricey guises. These cars were announced well in advanced of the 1947 model year in early 46, making Studebaker "First by far with a postwar car!" This car represents extremely low production of only 1,503 Regal trimmed Commander convertibles assembled. Highly optioned and correctly restored it was the under taking of the foremost Studebaker restorers, the "Schrock Brothers" of Pennsylvania. They embarked on a multiyear restoration in attempt to restore the finest 1947 Commander Convertible available. Their personal collection of the largest Studebaker NOS parts known, they used only the best of the best for this Commander.
Finished in show quality factory correct Tulip yellow it's enhanced with a black Hartz cloth top and correct stainless trim. The upholstery is stunning as well, boasting blood red leather seats with correct matching red carpet. Equipped with the correct 226 cid 6 cylinder engine and column shifted three speed manual transmission with factory overdrive for highway cruising.
