Listing our Black/White (Salt/Pepper) 1955 Studebaker President Speedster on an EBay Auction with Low Reserve. We have spent the last few years following behind a “frame-on restoration” completed/claimed from a seller in California (2009). We have gotten this Speedster to a 100% original, numbers matching, all equipment intact/installed and working car. It is driven two/three times monthly; cranks/starts (fairly) effortlessly; and, is always good for an hour conversation at any soda/hamburger stop (or drive to Wal-Mart). We have laughingly started calling this car our “20-footer”; it looks pretty dang good from 20 feet; but, get any closer you can start to see her short comings. Some door dings, paint chips, paint runs and Old Car cosmetic imperfections are noticeable. Engine does not burn oil or smoke; oil pressure runs 10-12 PSI at 60 MPH cruise; but, does “Breath Heavy” from crank case vent (suspected piston ring Blow Bye). DG250 Transmission does shift and drive through gear changes – pretty much as specified in 1955 Studebaker “Passenger Car” maintenance manual (some red oil is noted on garage drip pan following exercise). Note; chose not to install the NEW headliner at this time; correct installation of liner requires removal of windshield and back glass; or, butcher job (of NEW liner) trying to cut/capture liner underneath windshield/backglass trim. Anyhow, someone is going to get a good deal on an all original Speedster; and, have a Good/Fun weekend driver. If you have questions during Auction; ask them! We will ask for a $500.00 deposit; and, of course cash, wire or cashier’s check prior to signing over the title and transfer of the car. New Owner is responsible for all transportation/pick up of car; no Warranty is included; and, no return once title is signed over.
