1965 Shelby SUPERFORMANCE Additional Info:
Superformance car #117 with a NOS C7AE-A side-oiler 427. I've had the car for 6 years and am the 6th owner. I am the mechanic on the car and have gone through the car from front to back. New QA1 shocks/springs, rear shock mounts, custom ball joints, sway bars, upgraded Willwood calipers, etc. I just completed removing the heads and intake and they were rebuilt, ported and port matched by Mike Hensen Racing Engines, one of the local 405 guys on the show STREET OUTLAWS. The engine breaths very well, and should make about 500 hp/ 500 lb. ft of torque. I've run different types of gas, but if you achieve anywhere from 96-98 octane, its runs the best there. The old Tremec was replaced with a Legend Gear SS-700 5 Speed with a syncro reverse. A MUCH better gearbox. I removed the old clutch type LSD from the 8.8 and replaced it with a Quaife gear type LSD.This is not your normal 1st Generation Superformance. It has been upgraded and has been set up to be used as a Track Day car, Autocross car or just a cruiser. The 427 starts and runs amazing. It was built with a nitrited and micro polished steel crank, Lemans Rods, Venolia 10.25:1 pistons, the top end is all Edelbrock, stainless 2.190 intake valves, Comp solid cam .605 lift and 248 duration at .50 lift. and Speed Pro Gold roller rockers.I have a second set of Trigo wheels with Mickey Thompson radials mounted on them that work great for a road trips, but the Goodyear Billboards look SO good, no other tire looks quite right.Your must see the car in person to appreciate that this early Superformance car.
