This is the most meticulous, most detailed Daytona we've had! Only 505 miles since finished. Custom chassis! Stacked fuel injection! Air conditioning! This is a top-quality Factory Five street friendly tribute to CSX2300, one of the most famous race cars of all time! Designed by Peter Brock for Carol Shelby to improve the foundation established by the Shelby Cobra. Ultra-limited production with only 6 ever produced. The Daytona coupe was developed to add greater miles per hour to the car. At Le Mans, that Daytona coupe picked up 15 miles an hour over the Cobra roadster. An unexpected benefit was that the Shelby Daytona coupe also gave them a 25% more fuel efficient race car. The top speed for the car in 1965 was a remarkable 191 miles per hour on the Mulsanne straight. Our shop manager said this is the best factory five build he has ever seen! It comes with 3 binders full of receipts, invoices, pictures, and documents! EXTERIOR: All the looks of the original CSX2300, it is very authentic! The fiberglass body is arrow straight with precise gaps. Gorgeous blue paint is smooth, glossy, and reflective. The racing stripes were applied under the clear coat, so they are smooth when touched. It is finished off with authentic racing decals. It does have removable side windows and a Lexan rear hatch window. Race ready pop-up quick fill gas cap, covered headlights and fog lamps. It has working windshield wipers, reverse lights, turn signals, and headlights with high beams. The side pipe exhaust system looks just like the original. It's sitting on authentic looking spinner rims with performance tires, ginormous 315/35ZR17s in the rear. INTERIOR: This is the best interior we've seen! The builder went the extra in taking the stripped down race car interior and refining it. Most are the raw aluminum; this one has been lined with sound deadener and carpeted. The top of the console and custom-made door panels are upholstered. He actually constructed a dash pad and upholstered it too. It has many creature comforts like air conditioning, USB port, 12 volt receptacle and a rear view mirror with built in lights. It has a tilt column with a leather gripped wheel and a Shelby center cap. The race seats and harness will hold you in place as you carve up the pavement. The driver seat is adjustable to fit people of different heights. The attention to detail is remarkable! The dashboard itself is equipped with an impressive array of Auto Meter gauges monitoring the engine vitals. All the knobs are billet. The gentleman that built this car was a helicopter pilot, so all the toggle switches are from a helicopter, which I thought was a really cool touch! I also like the Shelby shift knob on the short throw shifter. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is a meticulously assembled and highly detailed compartment. At the center of it is a high performance 302 making close to 400 hp! The stacked fuel injection functions and looks great! The front of the motor has billet brackets and pulleys with a serpentine belt system. The headers are coated, plug wires are run through billet holders, its wearing Shelby valve covers and much more. It's equipped with air conditioning, power steering and a Wilwood brake proportioning valve. It is sure to stay cool with an electric water pump, aluminum radiator, electric fan and the warm air is ducted right out the hood. All the hoses are braided stainless, it has an Optima red top gel battery with billet clamps and hold down. The firewall is custom aluminum. The horns are hooked up. The bottom side of the fiberglass hood is neatly finished in black. This is like looking at mechanical jewelry! TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Lift the locking hatch made of Lexan at the push of a button. It is held up by struts and the weather stripping is fresh. The entire inside has been furnished with sound deadening and is fully carpeted as well. A functioning push button light was added to either side. Currently the FAST system control and wiring are being stored in the trunk. UNDERSIDE: Even underneath looks brand new! Full custom tubular chassis with independent front and rear suspension! It's equipped with rack & pinion steering, tubular control arms, adjustable coil over shocks and 4 wheel disc brakes. The emergency brake is hooked up. The aggressive straight pipe exhaust system is run along the rocker panels. Looking up at the 302 engine it has a high torque starter and is painted Ford blue. The 5 speed manual transmission also looks fresh and clean. The custom frame and floors have both been prepped and neatly painted black. SERVICE: Built and meticulously maintained by a helicopter pilot. Our lead mechanic thoroughly inspected this car and it passed with flying colors! It is ready to cruise with confidence! I cannot stress enough, the top-quality construction of this tribute car! The original was sold by RM auctions for 4.4 million dollars on August 19, 2000! Get all the same aesthetics here plus the abundant performance in a street friendly package for a small fraction of that price! I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum.
