1965 Shelby Cobra Roadster As the saying goes there is more than one way to skin a cat, or you can have your cake and eat it too! The solution lies in this classic reproduction from Lone Star Classics, and, in this case it's all wrapped up for you with 3,100 miles non verifiable miles showing on the odometer. Just get in and drive. If the powerful 351ci Windsor V8 under the hood, 4 wheel disc brakes, and knock off wheels aren't enough to get your Cobra juices flowing, then lets add in an AM/FM/CD & Bluetooth capable stereo, the rarely seen installed air conditioning and a new carburetor. Still not enough for you to need a dribble bib? Then don't overlook the 4" of added wheelbase to make for a roomier cockpit and the painted to match hardtop for those Autumn drives. Read on and try not to drool on your keyboard. Exterior Words like Awesome, really cool, gorgeous, great job come to mind when gazing at this car. Sapphire Blue with light blue wide stripes running the gamut in the center harken back to the racing heritage these cars were racking up in the mid 60's. A driver's side chrome roll bar, wing glass side shield windows, and those amazing snaking from underneath big side pipes emanate from the front wheel well. Shiny chrome front and rear bumperettes are on along with a bedrail rear bumper connecting the 2 uprights. Also, lest I forget the 15-inch Centerline wheels wrapped in raised white letter Goodyear radials. Definitely adorned and ready to roll to a car show near you. As mentioned earlier, a color and stripe matched fiberglass hardtop is included with your purchase and looks just as good as the rest of the car. Interior Black leather low back bomber style bucket seats with RJS 4-point belts, black carpeting, black dash with plenty of toggle switches to keep you busy greet us upon entry. A nice lineup of black faced gauges has everything one needs to keep the pulse on the car and just below is the controller for the rarely seen heat and AC controller. A leather booted shifter is noted, while textured black foot pedals hang above the clean black low pile carpet. A 3 spoke Grant GT steering wheel is noted, and a large center hump with the AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth stereo in the back is noted and keeps the bomber seats in check. Drivetrain The 351ci Windsor V8 is tucked neatly into the clean engine bay. A new Holley 4-barrel carburetor feeds the mill via an aluminum intake distributed fuel and air. A Tremec 5-speed manual transmission sends power back to a Ford 8.8" 4.10 geared rear axle. A light patina coats the engine bay and with a little elbow grease things will be looking top notch, including the polished serpentine accessory drive system. UndercarriageA black painted custom square tube and bar chassis, custom fabricated aluminum inner structure, firewall, and trunk floors, all finished to show quality. Front features rack and pinion steering and independent coil over suspension keeps you on track and the rear features a 4 link and adjustable rear coil-overs. 4-wheel disc brakes all around with frame mounted dual brake booster to put the hooks out! Headers are on for the big exhale and i'm chomping at the bit to fire this snake up and listen to the symphony of the big V8 racking off out the side pipes. Drive-Ability This car with its awesome power can quickly become a handful, so we took it easy. It was nice to listen to the powerful roar as we accelerated up to highway speed and took a few corners in the track where it handled like it was on rails. Bias free braking, and all functioning and all added up to a pleasurable and exciting experience. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Here's a classic car you can drive! Overall a beautiful presentation with a shade of blue and textures you just do not see everyday. Well kept, but driven, and with the extra 4" of leg room, even a tall fellow can pilot this one. Plus, it's a neck snapper, and thrill giver, all at a reasonable price, with no wrenching, just turn the key. Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (that's more than 8 acres!).
