Claimed to be the only Factory Five Daytona built with a 427 big block engine! Professionally built by Vintage Motorsports, pictures are on their website. There are also 3 binders of documentation and photos of the build. In 2012 and 2013 it won best Daytona at Factory Five's very own open house car show. Shelby only built 6 original Daytonas. They are practically unobtainable and if one were to become available, be prepared to pay several million dollars. Factory Five has designed an accurate replica that captures the look and feel of the original 200 mph GT cars but is more reliable and comfortable. FF performs extensive research and development into their products. The result is a car that will outperform the original. It's exhilarating, the look, the sound and the ride! EXTERIOR: It looks just like the original Daytona with the same scoops, flairs and sleek design. Its composite body is in excellent shape; it is straight with no damage. Painted a gorgeous deep blue metallic and it has a very smooth glossy finish. Painted white over the top stripes. Period correct racing decals enhance the original look. Correct covered headlights, taillights, pop up gas cap, bullet mirrors etc. See those pipes on each side? Wait till you hear them! It carves up the curves on a set of 17 inch Halibrand style wheels with Eagle F1 performance tires INTERIOR: It's no Cadillac, it's a nicely finished racing cockpit! The aluminum dash, foot wells and console were covered in sound deadener before they were upholstered and carpeted. The leather wrapped Moto Lita steering wheel has an easy disconnect so the wheel can be removed for easier in and out access. Once in the racing style seats and harness will hold you safely in place. The dash is home to a full set of Pro Comp gauges and toggle switches. The console is home to an e-brake and a Hurst shifter. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: This is an actual FE 427 big block They started with an NOS block and gave it a performance build with Edelbrock aluminum heads and a very cool Borla stacked fuel injection on top with a Haltech fuel management system. A 3 quart Accusump oil system keeps it lubricated. It also has an MSD ignition system and headers that feed the side exhaust. Dressed in finned Cobra valve covers. It runs cool with a 3 row aluminum radiator, aluminum water pump and dual electric fans. The engine bay is full of polished aluminum panels, braided hoses, and premium fittings. After the video and pictures, I spent $2000 having the car detailed, mostly in the motor compartment. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Like the original the rear hatch window lifts open. It is carpeted inside, and the exposed tubular supports are painted. UNDERSIDE: Track ready modified chassis with braces and triangulated supports. Flaming River 16:1 steering with helm joints and bump steer modification. Upfront is tubular control arms, coilover adjustable gas shocks, rack & pinion steering. In back is a 4 link system with adjustable control arms, coilover adjustable gas shocks and a Watts link. Wilwood brake system with 4 wheel drilled and slotted disc. Dynalite Pro Series front calipers. Fuel Safe 22 gallon fuel cell with internal slash box, extreme pro Bosch fuel pump, stainless lines throughout. Looking up at the motor it has an 8 quart Canton oil pan and a high torque starter. Heavy duty scatter shield, Doug Nash 5-speed with hydraulic Center Force clutch. The rear end is a modified Ford 8.8 with 3.08 posi gears. SERVICE: We inspected the car and programmed the fuel gauge and speedometer. We replaced some missing knobs, fixed the fog lamps, tightened the steering wheel and fixed the taillights. This car is pure excitement! The looks, the sound and of course the performance are awesome. It is legally titled as a 2012 Ford Cobra.
