Main Street Motors - Denison is proud to offer this Superformance MkIII 1965 Cobra replica. This is not a kit car, this is a true to spec Cobra replica manufactured by Superformance. The Superformance MkIII is the only Cobra replica built under license from Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc. This is Superformance chassis number SP01244. Manufactured in November 2001 and originally sold through Dynamic Motorsports. It is titled as a 1965 Ford Cobra. It is powered by a 600 horsepower, 514 cubic inch Ford Racing crate engine (MSD ignition, roller camshaft, aluminum heads, aluminum intake and Holley Quick Fuel carburetor). The transmission is a Tremec TR3550 TKO 5 speed manual with HD racing clutch kit, using a hydraulic clutch for a light/easyclutch pedal. The rear differential is a Ford 8.8 IRS with 3.55 gears and posi-traction. The Superformance chassis is fully tig welded, ladder frame style with independent front and rear suspension, custom crafted coil-over shocks, rack and pinion steering and 4 wheel disc brakes. This Superformance Cobra handles like a thoroughbredand is considered by most enthusiasts to be the absolute best driving, best handling of all Cobra replicas or kits. The fit and finish of the body panels and components is superb. The hood, trunk and door gaps all align perfectly.The fiberglass body is the exact dimensions as an original Shelby Cobra. It is hand laminated and features reinforcing inserts. The paint is a 2 stage, base coat / clear coat in "Dark Silver". Show quality throughout. This has an extremely nice paint job, no scratches, no blemishes. The windshield assembly matches original S/C dimensions.The interior features hand madeseats, covered in high grade, black leather. Fully carpeted cockpit area and upholstered door panels. Moto-Lita wood steering wheel. The instrument panel replicates the original Shelby Cobra layout and utilizes original style instruments, manufactured by Smiths in Englan, along with switches by Lucas and even has a reverse 180 mph speedometer - just like an original Shelby Cobra. A black soft top, side screens and cockpit tonneau cover are included. The stainless steel double roll bar is mounted directly to the chassis. The inside of the trunk is fully carpeted and finished out nicely. The Cooper Cobra white letter tires have a 2021 date code and are mounted on correct, Halibrand style "knock-off" aluminum wheels. This car runs very strong, drives excellent and stops great. Everything works perfectly. It has a nice choppy idle, the sidepipes sound tough. It does not overheat in traffic, it goes down the interstate like a boss. We cannot say enough good things about this Cobra - it's simply a greatcar.
