Thoroughly refreshed both mechanically and aesthetically, this 1965 Shelby Cobra Everett-Morrison is all about abundant, smooth functioning power as it turns heads. It's precisely configured and features top tier components throughout while offering an outstanding experience behind the wheel. This '65 provides a fine testament to the dividends of skilled workmanship. In a niche where the manufacturer's standards can make a world of difference, this specimen benefits from being the handiwork of a very respected brand... - Everett-Morrison is no novelty shop, but rather an actual accredited OEM manufacturer for the model. Their attention to detail really plays out here - the stout chassis below provides an ultra-solid foundation and the hand-laid fiberglass body allows for a consistent thickness from front to back. It's decked out in a signature Shelby exterior treatment consisting of a clean blue backdrop accented by a pair of broad white stripes running the lengths of the hood and deck lid. The paint itself is in great shape, having been applied only a couple of years back - a detailing session will bring out its best -and a closer look will reveal that not only are the contrasting stripes painted on, but they also sit underneath a lush clearcoat for a seamless finish. Take a peek inside and you'll notice that the cockpit is as fresh as you could want. It benefits from a number of recently added components and offers some very nice finishing touches. The low backed buckets have yet to develop any of the creasing or wear that comes with prolonged use and they straddle a center console that positions the low profile shifter within easy reach. A bit farther forward, a pair of speakers have been cleverly incorporated just below the dash area, ready to spread sound throughout the cabin via a directly plugged in audio source of your choosing. Above, the dash houses a full complement of white-faced Stewart Warner gauges, with a fully functional analog clock blended into the mix. As you climb in and take your position behind the wheel, a glance below will reveal one of the many benefits of the Everett Morrison design - the pedal box is wider than the norm, allowing the pedals to be spaced comfortably apart. If getting out on the road and starting the fun without delay or worry is a big priority for you, this car definitely moves to the top of the "must see" list. Impeccably dressed with an assortment of chrome components, the 302 cubic inch V8 occupying the engine compartment is surrounded by fresh hoses and wiring and is fed by a 4 barrel carb perched on a mid-rise intake manifold. It was recently refreshed and is in top notch running condition as it teams with a 5-speed manual T5 transmission that itself was installed only about a year back and puts full control of its power in the hands of the driver. The tubular control arms up front feature coilovers that combine with the additional pair in back to provide a surprisingly refined ride and, with the Cobra's relatively wide track and low to the ground stance, it's a world class corner carver. The car was recently professionally rewired from front to back to enhance real world reliability. Disc brakes at all four corners bring lightning quick stops as this attention magnet scorches the asphalt on a set of razor sharp 18" wheels. Offering plenty of fresh curb appeal, as well as loads of dependable, rock solid power, this 1965 Shelby Cobra Everett-Morrison is a great rendition of its exhilarating, performance-centric niche.
