Highly documented, numbers-matching 1969 Shelby GT500 finished in Special Order "Grabber Yellow." 1 of only 192 Drag Pack 1969 Shelby GT500s built and 1 of 2 built in this combination (Drag Pack/Color/Trans). This rare Shelby was treated to a full restoration and features a highly detailed engine bay.
This GT500 is powered by what is believed to be it's numbers-matching drivetrain. The 428 Super Cobra Jet Engine has a casting date matching the build identified by the Marti Report. I cannot locate any VIN stamping on the block or rear cylinder head but I do believe the motor is original to the car given that the block casting and other major components all correspond perfectly to the build. The Original Holley C9AF-9510-N carburetor shows a date code of February 1969. The car is shifted by the correct C6 transmission with "R" servo and cast iron tail shaft. The correct 9" rear end still wears it's original metal ID tag and has the "N" casting denoting the high nodular content case used on high performance models.
The Deluxe Interior sports all the original Shelby-unique upgrades including roll bar, seat belt retractors, Stewart-Warner gauges and console insert. The carpet, upholstery and woodgrain were redone during the restoration and show well. The detailed undercarriage features red oxide, with body color overspray and correct undercoating.
The exterior features Grabber Yellow Paint in good condition, the hood and decklid feature the correct S9MS part numbers and hood does show the "bow" that is often present in many of the original fiberglass hoods.
Documentation includes a Deluxe Marti Report, Original Shelby order form, Original Invoice, Original Window Sticker, Pre-Delivery Sheet, Original Dealership Inventory records, Service Records, Ownership and build information from the Shelby Registry, Confirmation email from the 1969 Shelby Registrar confirming the cars options and 1 of 2 status, as well as previous title copies from past owners.
