Condition Highlights:
History and Provenance: This Silver Shadow comes with extensive documentation, including the original order and build sheet for its delivery to the Paramus dealer, along with various service receipts tracing its care over the years.
A solid and dependable original, this Silver Shadow is perfect for an enthusiast who appreciates the rich history and luxurious ride of a classic Rolls-Royce. She’s been reliable on long drives and is a joy to cruise around town, representing an elegant chapter of Rolls-Royce heritage.
1971 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow VIN: LRX11515 with 6238, miles on the odometer, black with silver sides and gray leather interior, it is a LWB version "Long Wheel Base" with only built 2772 or so LWB Shadows from 1969 as a 1970 model to 1977, The long-wheelbase version of the Silver Shadow added four extra inches in the rear doors and floor, this one is without the divider, has the appropriate smaller rear window, the everflex covered roof with the badge on the C-pillar.
Originally she was the Paramus NJ Rolls Dealer's "Pick You Up" at the airport car for a number of year, it went to St Louis for similar duty then was purchased by a local Doctor, Allan a nice fellow in Pittsburgh who bought the shadow from the doctors' estate and then Alan sold this one to me March of 2016 with 60,575 on the ODO when he found his dream 1964 Cloud and needed to part with this Shadow.
The body is in good condition, the leather and interior is in good condition, there is minor cracking on the dash, the carpet needs replacement and the new carpet is in the trunk, she starts and drives and has the usual Shadow ailments in the brake reservoirs so you need to wait a moment to let them charge up, the warning lights don't always turn off, the self leveling rear suspension is disconnected and the rear CV boots need to be replaced and she leaks a little oil like a proper British car.
The water pump was replaced a few hundred miles ago. New Tires were installed in October 2024 here in SoCal. The Shadow is fun to drive and easily cruises at freeway speeds, I drove her from Pittsburgh to NJ after the purchase, sedate, quiet, and the ride is smooth as glass, the engine pulls nicely and the transmission is silky.
She is now here in CA, just off the truck, with a clean NJ Title as I just shipped her to SoCal from my NJ home that I sold in October, I used her there as an around town (Meadowlands area, Bergen county NJ) kept here in a controlled garage there, and used her to pick up people at the airport. and local trips as far as Philly to the south and Warwick NY north,
She was ordered June 2nd 1971 as was finished being built in August of 1971 for delivery to the states and the original order sheet and build sheet for the Dealer in Paramus NJ is with the car. There are a number of documents to entertain the history buffs. Very nice SOLID ORIGINAL car from 1971 so its not perfect but has been a dependable cruiser.
