Same owner for many years - excellent and very elegantly presenting example!
Words are tough to describe this stunning 1958 Bentley S sedan. Finished in Tudor grey over Masons black with rich dark green Connolly leather upholstery fashioning everything in a very original and unrestored manner.
Recently from the collection of a deceased estate, this Bentley S is one in rather lovely spectacular condition and perhaps amongst the best out of the collection.
The Bentley S and Silver Cloud were produced by Rolls-Royce Limited from April 1955 to March 1966. It was the core model of the Rolls-Royce and Bentley range during that period. The Silver Cloud & Bentley S replaced the Silver Dawn & R-type and was, in turn, replaced by the Silver Shadow and Bentley T. The J. P. Blatchley design was a major change from the pre-war models and the highly derivative Silver Dawn/R-type series.The Bentley S has the 4.9 litre in-line 6 cylinder as standard. This car has aftermarket AC fitted.The car was rather excellently repainted some 25 years ago. The quality of work done was extremely good and we can assume at a very high with many seals and gaskets replaced (Door seals are perfect. A new trunk seal has been ordered for fitment). Today, the body and paint is quite excellent. She presents very smooth and lustrous with only very minor blemishes and imperfections you would normally expect of an older car restoration, albeit well maintained. She is finished off with black fine lines to the side coach-work. Chrome, glass and fittings all present well.
The interior is indeed beautiful with all its original fitments. The rich green Connolly hides are supple soft with the most perfect amount of wear, just as you would want of aged hides. She does show all the lovely signs of gentle use and the warm "patina" that makes these Rolls-Royce interiors what they are - the word "patina" is used literally here, and not as a means to explain old dry and rough leather! She is quite the opposite and they are simply divine.The African burl walnut wood throughout is in nice condition and appears to be the only noticeable aspect of the interior that has been refinished, simply because it is so good. Carpets are fine as is the headliner.
Mechanically, the car is superb. She sings like the best should sing and always come to life when called upon. She idles very smooth, powers well and handles the road comfortably and straight. She comes to a stand still true and strong. The tyres on the car are period correct wide whitewall 235/75 Coker Classic radials in good condition.
Under the bonnet she is clean and presents well. It has not been precision detailed but simply kept clean and tidy throughout its life.
As you would expect, this Bentley S comes with its original accoutrements, all various tools, jack, torch, a spare tyre and operating manual.Like all Park-Ward Motors cars, this Bentley is subject to our Predelivery Commissioning program which ensures the car is in tip-top shape with all major and minor services done at time of delivery.
The car is of very high standard and is an undisputable 10 out of 10 driver rating and a good Preservation Class show car.

She is of RROC preservation standard that can also be used for special occasion or sunny weekend enjoyment. This Bentley is part of a private collection of the Park-Ward Motors Museum. Although licensed and bonded, I am not a main-stream retail car dealer or broker; I am a professional car collector of some 45 years with considerable experience and knowledge of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars. I have a long standing reputation being associated with the marque which I take seriously. I take pride in my cars and have fun in collecting and restoring them. However, auctions are not a game so when you place a bid or offer, and you are the winning bidder, please understand you have entered a binding contract. You cannot bid and win the auction and expect not to meet the terms and conditions. Bidding and/or winning does not mean you are expecting me to “hold” the car until you have the opportunity to inspect it. Any inspection contemplated must be undertaken BEFORE you bid or make an offer and I openly welcome any potential buyer to come and personally inspect the car. Please note, however, we do NOT allow 3rd party inspectors because history has sadly proven, they are not worth their weight in salt. Do not waste your time nor money - come yourself and we will go over the car in detail with you. Once you bid or make an offer, you are doing so to buy WITHOUT conditions. Your bid can not be subject to anything. A $2000.00 deposit (non-refundable) is required within 24 hours of the close of the auction and payable by PayPal. Please note, fitted radio/stereo systems are usually subject to upgrade by purchasers so I do not ensure operation of these. Similarly, cruise control systems fitted to these classics were of an inferior design and I do not check or warrant the operation of these. Suspension and brakes on these cars are complex. We thoroughly check them and replace things that are identified faulty. But please understand, by example; if we refurbish or replace a brake caliper because it appears aged or faulty, we do NOT at the same time refurbish or place all other brake calipers because they are of similar age. This is considered "preventative maintenance". We do not do this unless specifically requested and is not included in the purchase price. Feel free to ask for this additional service. Further, a feature or function that is working perfectly one moment, may decide to play-up the next. After all, it is several decades old. This is the nature of any classic car and especially a Rolls-Royce which was very "complicated" for its era.
