Selling at No Reserve!I will endeavor to describe the vehicle as accurately as I can. Bidders are encouraged to contact me or the current owner (neighbor). Also, please inspect, in person, if you are able.
Offered for sale is a 1969 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow in Pewter color, an early chrome bumper model on standard wheelbase.
This car is owned by my neighbor; I am listing it on my auction site for her. Her name is Ursula and her email address is jemiur@aol.com, This car has been in storage and not driven for several years. I was able to start the car with very little effort and drive it about ¼ mile to my house. This car should be trailered on account of poor brakes and also because of coming out of long-term storage. However, it does start and run well and you can drive it onto a trailer with no problem.
In my brief test drive, the engine starts easily, idles smooth and runs strong; I believe the engine to be a solid runner. The 3-speed automatic shifts well through all the gears. The brakes are bad. The brake fluid for the rear circuit has leaked out from the right rear wheel cylinder; I didn’t see any other leaks underneath. A solid body, no evidence of rust. It looks as though the hood, front doors and front wings have been resprayed at some time in the past. The paint was done well, matches well. The roof, rear doors and trunk lid are slightly duller and are probably the original finish.
Mileage indicted on odometer 31641: likely in excess of mechanical limitations.. The car was purchased by the spouse of the current owner in 2008. It was purchased in Braintree Massachusetts and driven to Naples Florida at that time. Since the time of the last transfer of ownership in 2008, it has been driven about 4000 miles. The car has been in storage under a carport for the last three years and started occasionally. Red leather is worn; Yokahama tires have lots of tread, but may be old. License plate expired in August of 2015 and beach parking sticker indicates 2013; probably indicatative of when the car was last in regular use. I ran the windows up and down as well as the power antenna. Interior is clean, but shows wear, there are no bad smells. This car could be made into a dependable daily driver with little effort.
There are some service records that indicate the car was purchased in NY, garaged in New Jersey, Massachusetts before coming to Naples Florida. Some inspection records from Massachusetts and service receipts. Also, an owner’s manual and a licensed DVD service manual are included with a large box of paperwork. Clear Florida title in Ursula’s name.
