1958 Lance Reventlow Scarab Mk 1 Recreation
I am pleased to offer this 1958 Lance Reventlow Scarab Mk1 recreation. This is an amazing recreation of the 1958 Lance Reventlow Scarab race car that beat Phil Hill’s Ferrari at Riverside race track in 1958. If you know the history of this car, you know that only 3 were built to race in the late 1950’s by the Woolworth heir Lance Reventlow. This car is titled as a 1958 Chevy and has only been driven approx. 600-700 miles. It was completed in the early 2000’s. What is the back story and features: This car was built by an automotive engineer. He realized that there were no kits of the Scarab so he built one himself. This was before Scarab Industries ever existed. In fact, Scarab Industries purchase this engineer’s molds and started to make their own Scarabs. – The car features a custom chassis built by Lone Star in Texas with Corvette disc brakes all around. – 383 Stroker motor with 650 cfm quickfuel carb – Approx. 450HP – Tremek 6 speed manual trans. for easy cruising – Custom ceramic coated exhaust – Hydraulic clutch – Aluminum cockpit and doors – Hand laid fiberglass body – 9 inch Currie/Ford locker rear end – Truly a hand built 1 of 1 car – not mass produced – Car runs great on pump gas (no need for race fuel) – Signed by Chuck Pelly who is the designer of this gorgeous body – believed to be the only Scarab that he has signed – No power steering, no power brakes – just the exciting experience of driving when driving was purely analog – Titled as a 1958 Chevy (VIN #VC57S141379) – great for exporting and registering with vintage plates – Only 818 +/- miles driven Video Links:
