1978 Manta Mirage, V8Mid-engine Full Frame Street GT, Le Man's Thisis a Real Street race car, that has been sitting in a garage since 1986. I have pictures from when we picked itup. No mouse crap, No chewed wires. I had the car checked out and almosteverything works. The motor is a 350 small block Chevy, early 1970’s with a4BBl edelbrock carb. And intake.” The car RUNS andSounds great”. The car even has aPump to raise the front up and down. The fuel cell and pump were replaced, oilchanged, brakes and clutch bled, flushed cooling system. This car has no leaks. The 2 cooling fans come on and lights work.The only problem is the wind shield wiper doesn’t work. The wind shield has a crack, might be able touse????? If you go to Mantacars.com theystill offer parts including a windshield. I have contacted Bell Plastics andthey can make in Lexan or acrylic. Ihave the doors but I don’t use them. The side windows don’t roll down. The interior is all there and can be used .This car has custom paint that changes colors, but not perfect. Please read the articles with specs from the manufacturein the add. I will assist with shipping if needed. I have videos of the car but I only can load 1. I will post more pictures. If you live in N. Calf Walnut Creek, come by and take for a drive. NOTE: tires have old date codes but are in good condition, they are T/A radials. I got more pictures, the car comes with the Adjustable rear spoiler and real nice MANTA carb cover. In the pictures see how you can RAISE the front end from 24" to 27" of clearance. No problems going over bumps or driveways. Both tops are pictured along with the manual head lights, cooling fans, front suspension.

| The motor runs and sounds good, I don't know much about the history of the Manta. The car has drum brakes, the gauges all work, tilt steering column, windshield wipers don't work; the windshield is acrylic. The battery should be replaced or kept on a charger. Since driving around more I saw a couple drips on the floor coming from the shift rod of the transaxle. The 2 cooling fans work well. You have to raise the car when you want to drive, the car had a leveling set up that leaked so it was bypass and is on a toggle switch. The headlights are manual not auto open. The Manta only weights 1900lbs so stopping and turning without power assist is no problem. The tires are T/A 265 50 15. The kids think it is the BATMOBILE, and everybody looks and takes pictures. The top of the car is 41" low. Very Good project. |
