-these gti models were equipped with front disc and rear drum

I have installed all new front calipers, brake rotors, pads, rubber flex lines, dot 4 syn fluid and wheel bearings (cost about $500)

-suspension is lowered it could use new ball joints/tie rods. I priced these out they range ball joints are about $14 each etc

Engine

factory 1.6L. (1600cc 4cyl) .This car is with dual carb set up to help up the HP.

Had a fuel pump fail few weeks ago but was able to get a brand new replacement unit last week and car is now up and running again.

I rate this car as good condition and a fun project.

FAQ last few days

Q: does the car have rust on the body?

A: the body is fiberglass so will not rust and the floors have been repaired as listed

Q: is the paint perfect condition?

A: no this is not a new car and has front stone chips, minor spider crack etc

Q: Is this a kit car?

A: no this is not

Q: where do I get parts?

A : since we are now in 2018 internet really is our best friend and getting parts is easy.

one of my favorite is (cip1) in Canada they have free shipping too

Q: I am looking to buy a car and put no extra money into it.

A: used classic car is not for you.

Q: is the car safe to drive to long distance?

A: No idea this has been a car I have not plated so can't comment.

Q: is the car sold certified or does it need work?

A: car is sold as is. as you all have read what I have done so far. next on my list I noticed needing repair is

1- I noticed front tie rod/ball joint have some play and are needed to be safety pass. I priced these out fromcip1.comand they are very cheap items say under $50

2- 1 of the licence plate light bulbs is burnt out which is easy fix but needed for safety to pass

3- horn not working new is $20-$30 again needed to pass safety inspection.

4- clutch slipping at times
