1983 Porsche 911 SC TARGA Additional Info:
1983 911 SC Targa. All original paint, interior, motor and transmission. The only non factory part is the Blaupunkt CD player but the original Blaupunkt Cassette player SQR 22 Monterey is included. No modifications necessary to swap them only wire connections.
Have full records on the car going back to new in a binder. Most recent work done was 7k, new clutch, new oil lines and engine gaskets, new calipers and rotors in the front and new starter. Starts and drives wonderfully. Minor rock chips as shown in the video and one blemish on the hood from spilled solvent seen in photo. Normal road rash for the mileage. No accident, rust free all original car. Original tool kit and spare included.
First two owners were a mother and daughter from the bay area CA, my father then bought the car and I purchased it from him. Never raced and always garaged. Not a show winner but a good daily driver that can be enjoyed. Very deserving of the minor restoration work necessary to bring it back to it's full glory. Wonderfully fun car to drive on the weekends to the coast.
Power windows work, factory A/C does not work but is all there, fan motor works but makes noise, 1st gear syncro is weak but it shifts fine in all gears, Motor pulls strong and has a lot of life left in it. Tires are good on tread but are past the recommended DOT date of use. Does not smoke when warm as the video shows, idles and revs as expected. Targa top is in good condition on the outside with no tears or rips, the fabric liner inside could use a little tlc at the edges as the glue has gone dry. The right front strut is tired but functional for normal driving. Power windows upper stop limit could be adjusted down as they will go up 1/4 inch higher than factory setting but they currently seal really well with the Targa top. Cruise control functions properly. PPI's welcome prior to the end of auction.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask. This is a US model and has resided in CA and Southern Oregon only so no rust. Clean straight body in original paint. Interior original leather is in excellent condition, no cracks in the dash or door panels, the drivers seat does have one seam loose but no tears or rips in the seats. All of the leather has been treated over the years with leather conditioner on a regular basis. The car sees little use these days as the wife and I have a new dog and she isn't allowed in the car so it's time for the car to go to a new home.
The car is located in Southern Oregon, payment in the form of wire transfer or cash. The car is being sold as is where is, I would happy to work with your shipper if you need the car shipped. Have clean clear Oregon title in hand. Cars stickers are out of date and will require a trip permit from the DMV if you want to drive it home, bring proof of insurance.
Walk around video of the car including starting it up and hearing it run is available on youtube, search for "1983 911 Porsche SC Targa" The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
