Up for sale is a rare SWB 1967 Porsche 911 Coupe VIN 305222 (one of 1,605, who knows how many remain). According to the numbers, it is the 121st 1967 911 built in August of 1965 and still retains some earlier features like the plated brass window frames rather than the polished aluminum later versions. The front VIN plate is intact and matches the door VIN/Paint Code plate, the Body Stamp near the spare tire well as well as the VIN stampings on both doors. There is a free and clear Florida title that matches the car’s VIN’s.
The car has been sitting for over three years and had been partially disassembled for an amateur restoration. The removed parts were placed back on the car to exhibit its completeness and assist with shipping. The car deserves to be taken down, stripped, painted and done properly. With its matching numbers engine and early build, a correct original restoration might be in order and current pricing makes that feasible.
Although it has been modified as a wide-body back in the 80’s, it still retains its original matching numbers engine (909107) with stamping number 901/05 5160. The transmission is a 902/02 five speed unit from a ROW 1968 912. The engine retains the original Porsche air breather box, Webber 40IDA3C matching carbs (1435 and), its original cast iron distributor number 0231159001 and its original BEHR oil cooler number 901 107 041 02. The factory original copper plated oil tank is also present and in excellent condition.
The engine turns over easily and it started with a squirt of gas into the carbs, but it has just been reinstalled for shipping and is not totally hooked up with oil lines and all wiring, Carbs will of course need a rebuild from sitting. Original color was 6606 Irish Green with Black interior. It has vintage Recaro bucket seats and the original rear seats, original door pulls and handles, visors, headliner bows and aluminum dash trim. All glass is in very good condition with new seals front and rear.
The car is solid and not a rust bucket and has had new floor pans installed a few years ago as well as a front pan earlier but the welds need to be cleaned up more. The body shows no signs of ever having been wrecked or damaged. The rear flares are steel and done well, front flared fenders, whale tail, hood and bumpers are fiberglass and of good quality. The Whale tail has a nice rubber wrap around spoiler.
The doors are original to the car and both retain the “222” VIN stamp on the inner panels. The doors look good but have been repaired previously with a lower skin and have filler in them and can be used as-is or skinned for a high quality restoration. The rear package tray was removed for replacement and the rear seat bottom wells will need attention. Jack mounts are rock solid and I have had the full weight of the car on both with no issues. Suspension mounting points are also rock solid. Wheels are vintage MAHLE BBS units with 15x10 rears and 15x7 fronts and are in very good condition and the tires are excellent.
The demand for early SWB 911’s continues to grow and the supply is not increasing. Since prices are all over the place for these cars lately, this will be a no reserve auction started at a reasonable amount and the market will determine its value. Therefore, there will be no “buy it now” price, so please don’t ask. Everyone interested will get an equal chance at the car. All other questions will be answered.

I have received several requests to post photos of the underside and the rear suspension mounting points, however, I only had two more photos available on the listing. There was old undercoating on the suspension mounting area and I ground that off down to bare metal and shot a coat of black paint over it so it could be shown without the heavy flaking undercoating that was on it. As you can see it is a solid car. There are two empty rear sway bar mounting points shown but the sway bar is with the car and is included in the sale.
