In 1978, Porsche introduced the new version of the 911, called the '911SC'. Porsche reintroduced the SC designation for the first time since the 356SC (as distinguished from the race engined 356 Carrera). There was no Carrera version of the 911SC. The "SC" stands for "Super Carrera". It featured a 3.0-litre engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and a 5-speed 915 transmission. Originally power output was 180bhp, later 188bhp and then in 1981 it was increased to 204bhp.
This beautiful original SC was purchased new by a Doctor and then passed to his son. Despite the fact that the car has been driven only 300 miles per year the owner was wise enough to service the car every year. Oil was changed and car was serviced even though it was barely driven. This is a true time capsule.
The original radio and speakers were removed years ago and wrapped and put in a dust proof container. The remainder of the car has been kept original. Tires were recently changed as the original ones were outdated.
The tool kit is like new as are the carpets and all parts of the car. The term “Time Capsule” is thrown around but this car truly is the real deal.
