History:
After the doldrums of the '70s wrought by energy shortages and rising government regulations, Porsche approached the '80s with renewed optimism and a popular new model lineup that included the special-edition 1980 911 Weissach Edition. A one-year-only limited-edition package, the Weissach was named after Porsche’s freshly minted development complex near Stuttgart as a way to reassert its commitment to the “Pursuit of Excellence.” Advertising literature pointed out that at $32,000, the Weissach Edition package was 15-percent less than if the various components were ordered individually, but the point was moot; all 408 of this limited edition 911 sold out with more potential buyers left wanting. Essentially a Turbo minus the boost and the wide rear body work, the Weissach was powered by Porsche’s fuel-injected 3.0 L flat-6 engine driving a 5-speed manual transaxle with limited slip differential. It also offered special paint, wider wheels and tires, stiffer shocks and larger Type-930 disc brakes, a front chin spoiler and rear whale-tail spoiler, sealed-beam halogen headlamps, power remote mirrors and antenna and leather interior trim.
This car is just about flawless and all original. No tears in the seats or cracks in the dash. Always garaged kept. No oil leaks at all nor does it smoke. This car is a 9 out of 10. Transmission is very tight and shifts perfectly. This is a turn key ready to drive car in near perfect condition. This Porsche has been used only sparingly over the last 36 years. Now showing a mere 101,000 miles, it is finished in Platinum Metallic paint with Doric grey leather and Red piping. This pristine Porsche comes with the thousands in receipts, owner's manual, and tool kit. The superb example offered here has come out of a 25 year ownership and was recipient of a Local Porsche Club of America Award in 2001 and in 2014. Like many other Weissach Editions, when new it went straight from the dealer into a private collection and was sparingly used. The car was meticulously maintained and we have receipts for a variety of service work, Tune-Ups, Brakes, Rebuilds etc . Now showing just over 101,000 miles the car is still as strong as the day it was born. Smog certificates show very minimal change in carbon output over the past 3 years which tells us just how good this car is, it has been so well maintained for instance the Max CO2 emissions percent is 14.5 set by the State of California in 2013 this car blew .3 in 2016 it still blows .4 and at speeds of 25mph or more this degree changed back to .3 out of 14.5 allowed, that’s 100% un-heard of on 35 year old cars, my brand new Lexus blows 3.5 - 6.5. This well cared for Porsche is one of the nicest, original survivors and will make a fun and exciting car to own and drive. All receipts will go with the car it is extensive so please email or ask for all details. If you are looking for that 1 solid, clean, no worries 911 then this may be the car for you. The price is affordable for its limited production of 408, the 911 market is very strong and increasing in value daily. Secure yourself a fun and exciting car you can drive an enjoy today with holding the rarity and collectability of an appreciating blue chip automobile. Topping that this is said to be the last one off the production line. Im still in touch with Porsche trying to confirm this.
However there are some rock chips on the front valence along with a small paint imperfection (about two inches) on the front right corner of the bumper. Also the previous owner before me swapped out the red carpets with tan/doric grey ones to match the seats. Feel free to contact me with any questions which you may have.
I highly encourage a pre purchase inspection. International buyers are ok. Feel free to contact me with an questions
