1977 Porsche 911 Targa Additional Info:

Up for auction is my privately owned 1977 Porsche 911 Targa. This is a non-S car meaning it is the European edition which spent most of its life on the western coast of the US and has never been driven in the salt and is rust free. I am selling the car to downsize my collection and I am sad to see it go. I am selling the car as pictured, as is, and as described without a warranty. What you see is what you will be getting. The car is in great original shape for its age and has not been smoked in. The car has factory (period 70's) brown paint (some clear coat fading and minor dings) and black leather and cloth interior. The original front seats were replaced before I owned the car with white leather Recaro sport seats that are fully adjustable and extremely comfortable. The standard painted headlight rings were replaced with chrome rings and the Targa bar is an optional matte black instead of the polished stainless steel. The car includes Fuchs wheels, original tool kit, jack, and spare tire in the bonnet. This car is very mechanically sound and ready to drive. The air cooled 2.687L naturally aspirated flat six runs great and has not given me any problems. The odometer reads 129,922 miles.

The car is equipped with a Blaupunkt RPD-435 radio and original 911 stitched floor mats with additional protection mats. There are very few imperfections but they include: two dings on the cowl where the hood meets the cowl if opened too far, cracked but intact tail light/turn signal lens, typical road wear chips in the paint on and around the front bumper area, dent in the front bumper fairing, fading in the paint with the most major fading to the hood paint that was poorly repainted years ago, the rear wiper arm was removed to avoid damage, door latch knob is broken, gas tank was cut and repaired, and the brake light is on but has no issues (typical problem). Overall the car is in great functioning shape and is ready to drive. The car is nearly 40 years old so some imperfections are present. The engine was rebuilt 20k miles ago, a new clutch was installed, and there are no leaks. I have quite a bit of documentation on the past repairs that will also be included with the car. There aren't too many original/unmodified 911's around!
This car is highly desirable in the US because it is a European Spec Standard car. This means there are NO POLLUTION CONTROL SYSTEMS or EMISSIONS SYSTEMS/EQUIPMENT on the car: no smog pump, no thermal reactors, and no exhaust gas recirculation. The thermal reactors are a dreaded feature on this era Porsche on the US imports: this car does not have any. To my knowledge the only US feature that this car has are the bumper cushions (slightly larger than Euro and ROW specs). The car also does not have A/C.
Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay for the car. Buyer must pay a non-refundable $1000 deposit via PayPal within 24 hrs after the auction ends.
