1985 Porsche 911 Ruf BTR3 Built in Pfaffenhausen, Turbo, G50

This is a true Ruf BTR3, built at the Ruf shop in Pfaffenhausen, fully documented one owner car from 1985 to 2025. Every scrap of paper is carefully stored in an organized history folder. This contains all wet signed build contracts with Mr. Alois Ruf, all communication between Mr. Ruf and the owner, all service records, past registration documents, the Ruf Certificate for the car guaranteeing the authenticity of this one of one Ruf BTR3 Targa. The documentation for this car is the most thorough I have ever seen. No accidents, rust or damage history ever. A new 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa cost about 75,000 DM (Deutsche Mark), the Ruf BTR3 added 111,000 DM to the price - almost 1.5x more than the car itself.
This is the only - One of One - Ruf BTR3 targa ever built. If you want to have a complete Ruf collection, this is the only Ruf targa you will find.

The car was purchased new by a doctor in Finland in 1985. He took it to Ruf in Pfaffenhausen for a total and complete Ruf BTR3 conversion, which included an extensive array of modifications, as follows:
- 430 hp engine conversion, 3.4 liter turbo, Ruf intercooler, Ruf Moronic engine management computer, dual injectors just like CTR, Ruf dual outlet exhaust, race connecting rods, Ruf cams and much more.- G50 transmission built to Ruf specs, with limited slip- CTR brakes- Ruf suspension & sway bars- Ruf wheels- Front strut bar- All Ruf gauges- Ruf steering wheel- Ruf interior- Shoulder belts- Ruf added the AC- Turbo wing installed by Ruf- Ruf front bumper & center Ruf oil cooler- Brake bias adjustment from inside- Ruf boost adjustment from inside the car
The car has approximately 46,050 KM, which is about 28,600 miles. Current registration and a clean California title in seller's name.
The current owner / seller of the vehicle purchased the car from the 1st owner in 2025 and performed a $ 300k ++ every nut and bolt restoration on the car. No aspect was overlooked. The engine was fully rebuilt, the transmission was rebuilt, all new brake rotors, calipers rebuilt, new Koni shocks, all new suspension bushings and ball joints. All black suspension components were black ceramic coated. All hardware ALL over the car was yellow zinc plated, as per original.New Sigla windshield. All new weatherstrip. All exterior black trim was black ceramic coated - door handles, window trim, targa bar hoop, etc. The interior was fully restored - new correct pin stripe velour inserts, all new leather door panels & seats, new leather for rear side panels & rear shelf. The gauges were serviced. The dash was recovered in leather, as per Ruf original. The AC system was rebuilt with new hoses and compressor. All engine black components were ceramic coated. All cast aluminum parts were vapor honed for new & correct sheen. The entire electrical system was gone through, restored or replaced as needed. The correct radio is in the dash. All original owner's manuals etc are in the glove compartment, including the padded folder. All radio instructions etc are in the folder. 3 new keys. This was a cost - no - object restoration where nothing was ignored. The car was painted with Glasurit paint, correct & original Guards Red, with dual clears - 5 coats first, then 3 weeks drying, then water block sanded after which another 4 coats of clear were applied. The final color sanding took 4 full days to achieve show quality perfection. The targa top was restored by Targa Dan, with ceramic coated top frame, all new OEM seals.
I have about 500 pictures of the car, before restoration, during the restoration and after the restoration. Approximately 30-40 miles on the car since the restoration - the car is essentially new.
