This Beck GTS is a Porsche 904 replica that was built by Special Edition Inc. and delivered to its original owner in 2015 as a “Deluxe Roller Package” without a powertrain. It was purchased by me in 2018 with a partially-installed engine, which was subsequently removed. The car features a composite body finished in blue, and the black interior is equipped with racing harnesses, a Nardi steering wheel, and VDO instrumentation. Other equipment includes 4-wheel disc brakes, adjustable coilover shocks, and an oil tank and cooler. The car is wired, plumbed, and configured for an air-cooled Porsche flat-six and 915 transaxle. This Beck GTS has not been titled and is being offered with a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin and a Texas bill of sale.
The laminated composite body is finished in Albert Blue and is equipped with Hella fog lights, rear reflectors, a ducktail rear spoiler, and dual fender-mounted rearview mirrors. A paint blemish is noted on the ducktail, as is a crack in the left headlight cover. The Porsche badging is attached with trim tape.
The stainless steel frame is fitted with 4-wheel independent suspension featuring CNC aluminum uprights, adjustable coilover shocks, and rack and pinion steering. Staggered-width 16″ Fuchs-style wheels wear BFGoodrich G-Force Sport Comp-2 tires measuring 225/50 up front and 255/50 at the rear. The increased ride height is due to the lack of drivetrain weight.
The interior features leather-upholstered seats equipped with 5-point Crow harnesses. Sound deadening and heat insulation material is reportedly present beneath the black carpets, and air vents and windshield wipers are installed.
Green VDO instrumentation consists of a 180-mph speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer, along with a multi-function gauge for oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. A wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, hand brake, and rod-type shifter and linkage are also present. A tenth of a mile is shown on the trip odometer, though the 5-digit odometer currently reads zero as the car has not been driven.
A flat-six engine had been partially-installed by the original owner, but was removed shortly after my purchase. Engine and transmission mounts and hardware for a Porsche flat-six are included in the sale, and the car is set up for an air-cooled 911 engine and 915 gearbox. Equipment already present includes an oil tank for a dry-sump system and an oil cooler mounted under the front clamshell.
