1991 Porsche 964 RWB "Smoothie"
Available now from The Group B in Miami, Florida is this beautiful example of a Japanese built RWB. Our 964 started life as a slate gray euro Carrera 2 factory sunroof delete car with a 5 speed manual transmission. It is rare to see the RWBs that have had the fenders molded ("smooth fender") so that the rivets are not exposed and make these the more desirable variety of RWB. The body lines of the car look absolutely stunning from every angle.
To achieve the current stance the car was setup with aragosta coilovers which improves the aesthetic look and provides increased handling characteristics. The massively wide and aggressive 18 inch work brombacher wheels are finished in a menacing gloss black with Rauh Welt etchings on the lips and carbon fiber center caps. The wheels were fitted with brand new Nankang Sporttrac CR-S tires on all 4 corners rear measuring 335-30-18 in the rear and 265-35-18 in the front. The mega wide look of the exterior of the car is completed with the RS spoiler fitted with risers and full carbon fiber aero wing.
The motor is a 3.6L flat 6 which was factory rated at 250 hp and is mated to a 5 speed manual transaxle. Minor performance modifications result in a higher output however the car has never been on a dyno. The car has a beautiful looking and sounding 1 off header & valved exhaust setup. Exhaust sound can be quiet when the valve is closed and exotic sounding when open and driving spirited.
Interior is an extremely clean and comfortable setup. This interior was setup with a pair of Recaro bucket seats with Takata racing harnesses. (Factory seat belts are still present) the stock comfort seats were upgraded to Recaro The gauges show like new and everthing works as it should. Current odometer shows 110,453 km which translates to 68k miles roughly. The dash above the glove box was signed by Nakai as most other RWBs. Original steering wheel was removed and upgraded to a momo 3 spoke wheel. A carbon RWB shifter replaced the stock 5 speed manual knob. Aftermarket stereo works but has frequency from Japan and would recommend a upgrade. AC is ice cold with all functions on the AC control unit working properly.
