1985 Porsche 944 Additional Info:

This car is a rare, well-loved time capsule looking for a great home. It reflects a LOT amount of effort and care, and it looks and drives incredibly for a (nearly) 40-year old car! Please note the long list of recent, professionally-completed repairs / restorations -- this car has benefited from many skilled eyes & hands, and it's ready to enjoy TODAY!

I have idolized the 944 since childhood and spent a good chunk of high school drawing up all sorts of variants. Decades later, I ran across this amazing gem listed at a reputable dealer, West Coast Classics (Torrance, CA), in a color combo I couldn't resist. The dealer had recently acquired the car from the original family with full ownership history and service records (details below). It needed some repairs but given the low mileage and clear mechanical soundness I experienced on the test drive, I purchased it in April 2020 while still living in SoCal.

Through 4 years of ownership (~2,000 miles added), I worked with 3 different Porsche specialists, 2 in SoCal and 1 in AZ, to ensure this car is as solid and sorted as possible. When I drove the car to Northern AZ altitude during a 2022 move, I experienced no temp-related or other issues when most of the 7-hour drive was over 100 degrees, and a few spots near 110! It’s almost 40 years old, but it does not look, feel, or drive like a tired car, the OG ‘80s Porsche interior scent is intoxicating, and thenew, period-specific Pirellis give it grip & presence.

Again, while this car has no known issues, please understand it's still being offered AS-IS with NO WARRANTY. Please ask any questions you need to be comfortable with this car and its amazing history - I'm an open book, and I will work with the Buyer to finalize payment & shipping details.

Obvious question: Why am I selling this magnificent beast? Transparent answer:

This 944 took a lot of love, energy, time (and $$$ TBH) to bring back to life from 2018 forward, both from the previous family owner and me. I regret nothing as I’m sure that we collectively revived a wonderful car, and now it’s in fantastic shape to be driven regularly by someone who has more free time. With my current business demands, I rarely find time to drive the 944, I wouldn’t let just anyone wrench this car, and unfortunately our small town has a single Porsche specialist who is always booked solid. He flexed to help me finalize this car, so now it should find its way to someone who has the same passion, the time & inclination to drive it more regularly, and perhaps more service options nearby...or maybe even self-wrench basic maintenance with the included shop book. :-)
