Up for sale is my1981 Porsche 911 SC coupe in impeccable condition with low miles. She is finished in a unique paint to sample original color ofRacing Red(RennrotL867) withChampagne leather interior. This vehicle was originally sold new through Atlas Porsche in Wilmington, California and remained in southern California for 40 years prior to being sold to dealerships in North Carolina and Georgia three years prior. Under my private ownership this 911 has only been driven on sunny days and runs like a charm. The car is rust free and in spectacular shape with just under37,000 original miles!
This 911 is powered by a 3.0 L flat-6 with a 915 5-speed manual transmission. The fuel injection includes the Bosch CIS K-Jetronic system. An engine overhaul was completed in 2005 that includes updating the timing chain assembly, replacing the head studs, adding a pop-off valve, replacing piston rings, valve cover gaskets, cylinder head gaskets, spark plugs, and clutch. The fuel accumulator was replaced in October 2014.Service records dating back to the 1980's corroborating the mileage history and maintenance work are also included.
Additional features include:-16" Fuchs Alloy wheels-Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires-Sunroof-Fog lights-Air-conditioning-Cruise control-Power windows-Power four-wheel disc brakes-Blaupunkt stereo
The interior sports a 150-mph speedometer that was installed by the original dealer in October 1981 and set to zero. The original 85-mph speedometer showed 766 miles at the time of replacement. This is all documented in the original dealer service records.
The exterior PTS Racing Red paint appears to be original, although a few panels have been re-sprayed over the years. No evidence of body damage, rust or altering in any way.
Also included in the sale: a 1984 911 Carrera-style whale tail and extra deck lid for potential future modification, additional literature, Bentley manual, service records, original tool kit and tire inflator.
This vehicle is a wonderful example of an unmolested, original "survivor" that has been well-cared-for over the decades, as well as a highly collectible investment.
Carfax shows no history of accidents.
