Ventilated Disc Brakes. Just serviced and ready for the road or the track.
As one of the greatest pure driving machines ever produced in its iconic early form, the 911S remains the ultimate first-generation 911 and of course, it is both highly collectible and immensely satisfying to drive. The Porsche Model 911 is without a doubt the most successful Porsche ever - really it's the most successful model in the history of the automobile. As such it is highly collectible and sought-after classic car. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to add an early 911S that's ready to drive, show and enjoy for years to come, to your collection.
The Porsche 911 was introduced to the world in the fall of 1963 at the Frankfurt Motor Show and it made headlines right out of the gate at its introduction in 1964. It was developed as a replacement for the highly successful Porsche Model 356. Although the model had its share of imperfections, the 911 was larger, more powerful, more comfortable and more competitive on the track than any other comparable car on the market at the time. Porsche steadily improved upon the design year after year as they strove to reach the goal of designing the perfect luxury performance car. By the end of the 60's the Model 911 had acquired a sizeable following of enthusiasts world-wide who were eagerly awaiting the newly revised, bigger, better, lighter and faster models to come. Major changes were made to the 911 in 1969, and the 911S was the ultimate Porsche for '69. It used a stout 9.9-to-1 compression ratio to knock out a thrilling 190 horsepower that it piped through its own aggressively geared five-speed transmission. To improve handling at speed, the wheelbase was increased on all 911 models by shifting the rear wheels back just over 2 inches. This helped to even out the weight distribution of the car, and yet kept the curb weight down to a remarkably light 2,249 lbs.
Included with purchase are; Original owner's manual, and records back to the late 1970s.
