Up for sale is my 1980 Porsche 911SC the I custom built into a fun off-road safari. It has right around 100k miles on it at the moment.
I started with a car that was mechanically solid but had some cosmetic flaws in order to not worry about getting it covered in mud or scratching the Schwarz Metallic (black metallic) paint.
Before I bought the car it was completely gone through with an invoice of $22k to make sure it was ready for the road after it had sat for a few years.
The car had a respray in its original color at some point in the past.I added the light pod on the front bonnet, wired the lights with relays and switches on the radio delete panel, on which I also added a dual USB charge port and digital volt meter. I also installed an RS prop rod to hold the bonnet up since the stock hood struts could not hold the weight of the light pod. The pod also has a cover to protect the lights but I never installed it.
Mud flaps help keep the dirt from flying everywhere.
A front skid plate protects the gas tank and steering rack.
Car comes with a removable roof rack which is able to carry the spare tire. Otherwise the spare fits inside the frunk.Tires are new BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2's mounted on factory 16x7 Fuchs wheels all around which were refinished. The full size spare is mounted on an aftermarket 16x7 Fuchs style wheel. For suspension, I modified new front Bilstein struts for increased ride height, added a Rennline bump steer kit, new KYB extended rear shocks and reindexed the torsion bars. This keeps the suspension simple without fear of damaging any expensive suspension components. All 4 calipers and pads were replaced with new units instead of rebuilt ones. The interior is in nice condition. There are no cracks on the dash. Factory sport seats are in good shape and very comfortable. There is a Momo Mod 7 steering wheel. Headliner is ok but has a couple imperfections. The sunroof does not open. I can hear the motor turning but nothing happens.
The engine runs strong. I did a compression test and according to my gauge they were all 175-180. It has headers installed, hydraulic chain tensioners, recent valve adjustment, Achtung Kraft air filter housing, new warm up regulator, new injectors and new oil cooler. There are no oil leaks so your garage floor will not get dirty. It has an MSD ignition box and coil so no worries with the temperamental stock cdi which always goes bad at the worst possible time.
The 915 transmission shifts very well. It has a Wevo shifter installed which really helps make the shifts ore direct and precise.
Car comes with the mentioned full size spare, tool kit, jack and owner's manual. Also a 4x4 block of wood to account for the additional ground clearance so the original jack still gets the car high enough to change a tire. There are a few cosmetic imperfections as shown in the pics. There is no rust on the car itself but the doors show a little rust on the bottoms. That's all the rust I have seen on it. Also someone opened the bonnet without making sure it was properly aligned and it dented the cowl and corners of the bonnet. Again, only cosmetics and this was why I chose this car to modify into an off-roader.Take a look at the videos I made of the car here:Walkaround video - https://youtu.be/rtHxVp7olKk?si=wF6ZoK_8RmdVBxMT
