3.8L - 6spd G50 - JRZ RS 3-way coilovers - 993TT brakes - Recaro seats - recent glass-out repaint - and much more. Zweck is pleased to offer this 1978 Porsche 911SC Targa with extensive modifications and service. Finished in black over black leather with houndstooth accents, this Targa is powered by a 3.8-liter sourced from a 1995 993 that was rebuilt by Jerry Woods Enterprises along with a G50 6-speed manual transaxle with limited-slip differential. The 3.6L engine was sourced from a 5k-mile 1995 993 and installed in 1999, and in 2001 was rebuilt by Jerry Woods Enterprises with a 3.8-liter piston/cylinder set as well as new gaskets, bearings, valve guides, and more. Additional upgrades include a lightweight starter and oil coolers mounted in the front fender and bumper. The 6-speed G50 transaxle with LSD was installed by Patrick Motorsports in 2002, paired with a Centerforce HD pressure plate and mid-weight flywheel. A Wevo short-shift kit was installed in 2019, and the clutch slave cylinder was replaced in December 2021. The odometer shows 157,239 miles, with 69K miles having been added since the engine was rebuilt. Suspension upgrades include JRZ RS Pro triple-adjustable coilovers with new spindles, 935-style rear spring plates, Smart Racing adjustable sway bars, TRG aluminum strut tower brace, monoball joints, and turbo tie rods. Three-piece 18? Kinesis K28 forged wheels with Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 tires (225/40 front and 285/30 rear) are mounted. The braking system features 993 Turbo big red calipers, cross-drilled rotors, stainless steel lines, Smart Racing cooling ducts up front, and a 930 master cylinder. The interior features Recaro Classic Expert M seats, trimmed in black leather with houndstooth inserts, accompanied by matching door pockets, tie-downs, and accents. Dynamat sound deadening was installed, at which time all panels and rubber were reupholstered or replaced. A Momo Mod 07 is currently mounted and the factory AC system has been removed. The car received a glass-out respray in the current shade of black in 2021 with all new rubber and seals. Exterior features include a carbon fiber front trunk lid, a fiberglass ducktail, IROC-style front and rear bumpers, a dimpled reflector delete,, houndstooth-pattern front and rear grilles, bullet side mirrors, and bi-xenon headlights. Paint protection film has been applied to the front of the car. A folding targa top and fiberglass hard top are included in the sale. Service completed under current ownership includes but not limited to removing the engine to replace engine harness, multiple oil changes, replacing the fuel tank, spark plugs, belts, and fuel lines as well as the fender oil cooler, stone guards, hoses, lines and wheel bearings. An article from Excellence magazine featuring a story on the installation of the 993 engine is included in the sale. This 911 Targa is offered with hard and soft targa tops, records and receipts dating back to the early '80s and a clean Florida title.
