This gorgeous Carrera has been comprehensively restored, both mechanically and cosmetically. The car was stripped to bare metal. All new gaskets were installed in the doors and windows. This work was performed by East Coast Autowerks of High Point, NC.
The engine, transmission, and transaxle were rebuilt to factory specs by David Brown of RennGruppe Motorsports. This mechanical overhaul also included all new suspension, brakes, and steering components.
The car is fitted with brand new Falken Azenis tires 225/45ZR15 in rear and 205/50ZR15 in front.
This is number 182 of 395 North American market cars with the original 2.7 liter CIS fuel injected engine producing 165 horsepower, and a 915 five speed manual transmission. The 1975 model year Carrera features a Whale Tail rear spoiler borrowed from the original 930 Turbo supplemented by a rubber front chin spoiler to help balance airflow. Compared to a contemporary 911S, the Carrera featured flared fenders to accommodate wider fifteen inch black painted Fuchs wheels measuring 7” wide in front and 8” wide in the rear.
Because of this car's rareness and notoriety, it will really stand out at Porsche Club events, Cars and Coffee and in general, everywhere! The upside investment potential is incredible, making it a car you can drive and enjoy!
