1977 Porsche 911 project. I want to keep this but need space in my building. Car was originally a targa. Previous owner removed the targa bar and rear window to make a cabrio. He gave me an illustrated pamphlet from porshe from 1983 or 1984 that is a factory guide on how to change a targa to a cabriolet. The top is from a 1994 911. The fabric is ripped and the window is bad but the top assembly fits well. The dash pad is in excellent condition and the seats are very good. The complete interior is bagged and boxed. Most of the interior is black but the door panels and a few other itemswere originally brown and have been dyed black. I have no carpets or floor mats but the rest of the interior is there including door handles, oor pockets and lids, tc..Has STEEL slantnose kit on the front with flip up headlights. Has fiberglass rear quarters bonded to it. The fiberglass quarters fit very well and bodywork is basically finished on them.It has a lightweight body kit including turbo style front bumper, hree piece rear bumper, ocker panels, and whale tail. The fiberglass pieces were just mocked up for photos and need to be installed.I have the headlights, ail lights, nd all other lights. The headlights for the original fenders are in the boxes as well. The body is very solid. The doors, ood, ngine cover, enders, nd floor are rust free. There are a couple rust holes in the front suspension pan but a NEW front suspension pan from Stoddard is included.
The side window glass is in the doors. The windshield is just sitting in the car and is cracked.
The car has a Chevy 350 V8 in it. The engine is mounted with a professional made kit as far as the transmission adapter and motor mounts. There is an aluminum radiator in the front, he gas tank has been cut down to make room for it. The cooling system is not plumbed. The car was last driven in 2014. It has old gas in it but I was able to pour fuel down the carb and get it to run well enough to drive on and off my trailer .It has the stock Porsche 5 speed.I have only driven it in reverse and first. It shifts freely into all gears and the clutch feels good. Brakes work. There are aluminum spacers to move the wheels out and fill the widebody. I think wheels are from a late model 911 but I'm not sure of the year, hey look great but will need tires.
I have no idea any specifics on the engine. It is a chevy 350, don't know the year, ow many bolt main, f it is modified, r anything. It has a 4 barrel carb and it runs is all I can tell you. Most people doing a V8 conversion run coolant hoses through the rockers. In my opinion the 350 is too big for the car, nd the radiator in the front takes away lots of fuel capacity. I was planning to put a 4.3 V6 in it(which will fit using the same clutch kit in the car). A 4.3 would leave more space in the engine compartment as well. You could either put the radiator in the whale tail or use the vents in the rear quarters and have two radiator, ne behind each vent with a crossover tube.
The car was a daily driver with porsche enginetill mid 2014, he V8 was installed but the cooling system is not done. If you wanted a 911 driver cheap, t could be on the road as is with minor work. Run some hoses through the rockers, ount the bumpers, nstall the lights and interior, ndrattle canthe rest flat black for the ultimate slantnose rat. Would also be a great start to a track car. Or put a built VW air cooled engine in it. Lots of possibilities for this very solid clear titled cabrio.
The car will be available for pickup in Mukwonago, I, 3149. I can assist in loading and rolling on trailer. There are several boxes of loose parts. The front and rear bumpers and the whale tail are loose. The door panels, ight, nterior parts are loose. The convertible top is loose. If you are thinking of using a shipper it will have to be a closed trailer or a pickup so there is a place to hold the loose parts.
I have a beautiful pair of steel 930 rocker panels I will sell for $1000 extra to the buyer of the car. They are much better than the fiberglass ones but I paid too much to include them in sale. If buyer declines to buy them I'll list them separately.
Clear Wisconsin title in my name, itle says convertible. $500 deposit within 48 hours. Balance to be paid in full and cleared before car leaves. Either send cashiers check or money orders and wait for them to clear or bank wire transfer. Cash in person at time of pick up is good too.
