1974 Porsche 914 2.0 presented in the “Creamsicle Tribute”finish of Ivory with Orange accents. Jointly designed, manufactured andmarketed by Volkswagen and Porsche from 1969-76, the 914 is a spritelymid-engine sports car that is both fun to drive and easy to own. Havingundergone a recent full service which included suspension and brake upgrades,this solid 1974 example is accompanied by over $20k in maintenanceinvoices. Highlighting some tasteful performance upgrades, this 914 2.0is now being offered for auction in excellent running order showingapproximately 85k documented miles on the odometer.
This 914 is painted in ivory, matching the original factory original color with additional contrasting details in orange. Exterior finish toremain in good condition for its age with a few small blemishes and some minorsigns of (very small bubbling near windshield..extra pictures can be sent.) Extensive rust repair was done and their are no rusted panels.
Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. Aprofessional application of undercoating was implemented along with thereplacement of the front 1/2 pan in 2019. Noteworthy details include anLE trim front spoiler, fog lights and removable targa top as well as anaftermarket fiberglass rear trunk lid with a custom raised spoiler. This914 rides on a set of orange painted Mahle wheels which are currently dressedin Yokohama tires.
Inside, this 914features a modified black interior with a center console delete and addedgauges. A 5-point safety harness has been installed for the driver’s seatwith a 2-point lap belt on the passenger side. The seller notes thatthere is no air conditioning or radio, however all other gauges, accessoriesand electrical components remain fully functional.
Representing one ofPorsche’s earliest mid-engine designs, this 914 carries an air-cooled 2.0 L flat-fourengine which sends approximately 95 HP to the rear wheels by way of a number’smatching 5-speed manual transmission. Weighing in at just over 2100 lbs.,the 914 is coveted for its lightweight agility and visceral drivingcharacteristics. Performance modifications include a full coiloversuspension, 911 front struts, upgraded sway bars, 944 brake kit and adual-outlet sport exhaust system. In 2015, this engine was rebuilt usingnewrings, pistons, rod bearings, valve liners, and rocker adjusters.More recently, engine wasserviced and tuned by a prominent air-cooled specialistin Delaware. During this time, the ignition points and timing wereadjusted, the fuel bowls were cleaned, both carburetors were replaced, and acompression test was conducted. Up to date on all scheduled maintenance,this 914 is being offered for auction with a clean bill of health.
