Porsche used to cater to the general public when they first started production of their vehicles and they wanted to have a car that would be affordable to the masses - Enter the 912, this was a entry level Porsche that was the exact makeup of the coveted 911 without the 6cyl, which meant a lower MSRP for the customer at the dealership. The 911 market was hot and with the addition of the 912 this gave Porsche a secondary... car to sell to the nonwhite collar executive. Pleased to bring to the market this stunning and well cared for 912E for only the 3rd time in its life. Vehicle was sold new out of Great Neck Porsche/Audi in Great Neck NY to a gentleman, Mr. Tim Klein in Syosset, NY in August of 1976. This car remained in the possession of Tim for over 20yrs and have a substantial file on the car from new. Vehicle was ordered new in Silver Metallic with leather covered steering wheel, tinted glass and dealer installed A/C, sport wheel and Blauphunkt 8track stereo. Vehicle was sold to another person in Florida where it stayed for about another 10years before getting up to Michigan. The car was repainted in 2011 by a body shop in Florida to the current black exterior. Vehicle looks great in person and the interior has been restored at some time as well. Newer seat covers, newer carpet kit, headliner and door panels/pockets and 15in polished wheels. The gauges all seem to be functioning properly along with all lights minus the fog lights and the driver side high beam. Vehicle has a VDO stereo with AUX cord. Vehicle comes with a THICK file of receipts over the years, 18+yrs of registration in the state of NY, shop manuals, original books, original MSRP and bill of sale. This is a great example of a well-cared for and highly documented vehicle. Runs and drives well and fires up with a quick turn of the key. Ready to be enjoyed and appreciate over the next several decades!
