Stock steering wheel was replaced with factory 930 steering wheel. Black shift knob also replaced grey shift knob .Black floor mats finish off the look of this black onlinen interior. Carpet and leather interior is in great condition with one minor crack on center of dash in typical center area (see pic). I have all original manuals tool kit tire pump spare jacket etc.
History is fairly complete on this car. Four owner car sold new at Vasek Polakin 1989 to a lady doctor as her commuter, her service is stamped in book. Traded in 2006 with 118,000 mileslanding with2nd owner.
This owner happens to own an automotive restoration business, Italian Performancein Saint Carlos, California. This owner began makingsignificant improvements on the car. Typically, these cars had weak valve guides and top end rebuild was preformed along with many performance upgrades. Italian Performance did the following upgrades at approximately 119,000 miles; New brake rotors calipers, wheel bearings,Bilstien green sportshocks all around, turbo-tie rods, CV axles, Elephant Racing suspensionpoly-bronze bushingsall around, monoballs on rear trailing arms, top end rebuild (including new euro pistons & cylinders, rings, valve job) new clutch& lightened flywheel balanced, new high torque starter, S Performance chip, balanced fuel injectors, ceramic coating exhaust and heat exchangers. The owner of ItalianPerformance, Don Baker, wrote handwritten outline of the mechanical work done to this personal car of his. It is on their letterhead and stamped and signed by Don Baker the owner. It also notes that the original car owner was a lady doctor who purchased it from facet Polak.
Basically all criticalsystems, brakes, suspension bushing, steering, clutch, exhaust top end engine were reconditionedat 120,000 miles
Third owner was a northen califonia gentlemanthatfurther babied this fine car after purchasing it in 2010 with approx. 145,000 miles. This owner upgraded interior .Front seats reupholstered by Tony at Autobahn International interiors in San Diego. The color is matched perfectly and did black leather piping on the front seats.Headliner was also replaced as well as all window seals at the same time. Stock steering wheel was replaced with factory 930 steering wheel. Black shift knob also replaced grey shift knob .Black floor mats finish off the look of this black onlinen interior. He also returned the front suspension to stock factory bushings as he preferred the quieter ride, . Full receipts show a good manitance life of 15K tune-ups & valve adjustments w Swepco and Brad Penn oil mention. As well as odd small repairs were done ;90 amp alternator & speed reference sensor most notable.
I’m currently the fourth owner. Purchased in 2017 with approx 156,000 miles. Just finished leak down test shows approximately 5% all around. See pic for invoice .It currently runs a B&B stainless steel exhaust - both stock exhaust and this included in sale. It has needed very little. Valve adjustment( no movement from previous ) Fresh DME relay, Ignition coil and Ac compressor. AC works well but only holds charge for a month. Recent Total brand Oil change and once over By Mekellos Classics Porsche service. Car runs on 225/50 16 & 205/50 16 Michelin Pilot Exalto's w approx 65% life left. Paint work is completely original looking with paint meter showing consistent on all panels as well as factory Vin tags on all necessary panels . Carfax shows accident in 2006. Paint match appears to be perfect. Previous owner mentioned that it was minor and front drivers fender was replaced w/ OEM part. The mounting sheet metal bolts on inside the of fender appeared to confirm the story. Again my paint meter reads accurate all around. This issue certainly wasn’t enough to keep me from purchasing this gorgeous car. As with any of these vintage cars odds are high they’ve been in an accident and perhaps just not reported . It appears as original paint. It is of course a numbers matching car in amazing drivers condition with typical minor stone chips on front hood. See pic .
This is a Luft ready well sorted example in-service collectable. It sounds great and runs like its hair is on fire! Perfect gentleman's sports car still gets parked in front row at the club.
