This 1963 Porsche 356B was sold new in California and reportedly remained in the state until being acquired by its me in December 2016. The matching-numbers flat-four engine is paired with the original 4-speed manual transaxle, and a big-bore kit was installed under previous ownership along with an aftermarket camshaft. Finished in Champagne Yellow over black leatherette, the car has also been modified with a 12-volt electrical system, frontdisc brakes inside a cosmetic aluminum drum cover, a remote oil cooler, and more as described in the listing below.
This 356 is now offered with a factory driver’s manual, reproduction tool kit, jack, and a clean title in my name.
The car was repainted at some point in its factory Champagne Yellow (6205).
The 15″ steel wheels wear hubcaps with Porsche crests, as well as newer 185/70 Vredestein tires at each corner. Frontdisc brakes are hidden inside a cosmetic aluminum drum cover.
Originally trimmed in green leatherette, the interior was reupholstered in black and has been fitted with a retro-style radio featuring a USB port. A period Blaupunkt radio will reportedly accompany the sale.
The lighting and VDO gauges are operational. The odometer currently displays 78,939 miles, about 1,000 of which have been added under current ownership.
Upgrades installed under previous ownership reportedly resulted in an increase to 115 horsepower and include an aftermarket camshaft, a big-bore kit, an auxiliary fuel pump, and a remote oil filter and oil cooler. Results of compression tests conducted yielded the following results:
