It was expertly metal-finished on a rotisserie by none other than Joe Jorge, the Argentine-born wizard body man known world-wide for his exacting work on so many vintage Porsches, it boggles the mind.

Along with the late Angelo Pino, Joe Jorge for decades was the Southern California go-to guy responsible for bare-metal restorations of Speedsters, Spyders, and other rare 356s owned by the most prominent collectors of the marque, among them Jerry Seinfeld.
Now in his late Sixties and mostly retired, he is one of the last of a dying breed of traditional metal men able to do virtually anything with a hammer and a torch.

Joe took on this Porsche as a retirement project. The car is absolutely rust free and features new inner and outer rockers, new floors, as well as a new suspension pan, all installed to factory fit and finish, with all spot welds placed as the men in Zuffenhausen Werk I would have, long before the advent of welding robots.

The external body shell of the car was "massaged," including careful use of lead (no "bondo!") to ensure perfect shut lines of doors and hoods. It remains unpainted at this point to facilitate inspection, and it sure is a beautiful sight to behold in all its "naked" glory, a fine testament to a great craftsman!

The car presently is a "roller" with brakes and suspension components and main wiring loom, plus a few extra parts, such as the inner Targa bar, Targa top, rear seats, and new wood floor panels.

Joe Jorge resides somewhat remotely in the Santa Ynez Valley; hence, the car can be viewed at our place in Ventura. We are assisting Joe in the sale. His Porsche comes with a clear California Certificate of Title.

For anyone with a rusted out or accident damaged '69 - '73 long hood 911/912 Porsche, this car would be an ideal basis for a show-winning restoration. It comes with a glass rear window but could easily be configured as a "soft window" Targa as well.

How often does one come across a virgin like this, perfectly metal-finished by the one and only Joe Jorge? This '69 truly is a special find and could be a basis for any 912 or 911 build - even a soft-window "S"!

If we had more space at our showroom, we'd keep this one stored and covered until the right organ donor came along . . .
