1974 Porsche 911 1-Family Owned from New. After owning a variety of 911’s over the years I have to say that this example is one of the nicest, most honest older 911’s I have seen. After a visit to Colorado I met the son of the original purchaser who told me his father promised himself a 911 upon his return from service in Vietnam. After 4 Tours (Yes 4 Tours!) his dream was realized and after taking him (at 5 years...of age) to Carmel California Porsche, he purchased this Salmon Metallic 911 from the Dealer… a just reward if ever there was one. Options were chosen and included the following (as per Porsche Certification). California Equipment Option Group K03 Manual Antenna & Noise Suppression Sport Steering Wheel 380 Rectangular Front Fog Lights – Halogen Dunlop Tires Paint: W5/Salmon Metallic Interior: 76 Leatherette (Black) Engine # 6142406 Transmission # 343974 2.7L Injected Motor and 5 Speed Transmission. After years of sole ownership with the 911the original Owner passed the car to his son just a short time ago, Owners son has since enjoyed the car sparingly on the weekend, fair weather permitting. The car has covered a mere 120,636 miles in its lifetime, maintained regardless of cost this example still retains its unused space saver spare wheel in the front trunk compartment along with air compressor. All factory carpet is in place and still looks very fresh indeed with factory tool kit accompanying the spare. All factory paint is still where it should be under hood, the engine compartment is much the same story, a real survivor in every sense and oozes originality throughout with it’s numbers # engine. The exterior of the car is very nice indeed, treated to a sympathetic re-paint 5-6 years ago it looks simply stunning, with laser straight lines. The front trunk nor the engine compartment received new paint, so its survivor status is bolstered by its appearance in these areas. The interior of the car is just as impressive, seats, carpeting, steering wheel, headliner all present beautifully. The mechanicals of this car are very nice indeed, I have personally driven this car and can confirm its tightness and positive response to everyday, and enthusiastic driving, a real pleasure and just how you remembered from yesteryear. The optioned Rectangular White Fog Lights on the COA are still fitted to the car today, another great touch to this example. Fuchs Alloys are in very nice original condition and look just as Porsche intended, superb. If you glance at the images you’ll notice the “Sekurit” etched glass, just as Porsche intended. The engine is numbers matching and a Porsche COA confirming this is included in the sale of this vehicle. The original glovebox owner’s manual is present with all details filled in by the dealer, subsequent service history is included in the book from new all the way through to 63,764 miles in 1980. The odometer reading is now 20,636 miles, after the 1980 service we were told that the car was maintained locally until it’s repaint a few years ago, sparing use only covering a total of 1496 miles each year thereafter… The underside of the car is original throughout, it would appear the car was undercoated early in it’s life and has faired very well for the 44 years it has been around. All floors and sheet metal work present very well for a 44-year-old car, and probably more so for such a well loved one family owned car. Its rare to find such an original 911 with a great story these days, and one that has been kept in such great condition. I would not hesitate to take this car on a road journey, it starts first time every time, and is a joy to drive. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach out, we urge you to view the others on offer, and then come see ours, simply breath taking in every respect. This is a car that can be driven and enjoyed that is not concours but a very strong “Driver Quality” car that will win you show and shine awards at the local car gathering. We can export, please reach out for a shipping quotation, we are well versed in setting this up for global clients. In short, this car is for any avid Porsche enthusiast and is not the usual 8 owner, re-painted 4 different colors example – This is a great car with good heritage, hard to find…
