1973 Porsche 914 Additional Info:
1973 Porsche 914 1.7PhoenixRed, lightly optioned with Appearance Group and Mahle wheel upgrade, in very good drivers condition, driven 1400 uneventful miles since getting her running again. Clean Title, registered andinsuredin my name.New plates issued from DMV upon ownership change although I do have theoriginalblue plates with matching registration if you want to try and get them reinstated. This 914 was sold new on August 23rd 1973 at a Porsche Dealer in Stockton California. Prior to my ownership it was last registered in 1989 when it was parked . Upon inspection by me it appears the original 3 port fuel pump had failed but it could have been for another unknown reason, I do have smog inspection documents from 1986 that show mileage at 47,754 and 1989 at 52,882,and based on carpet and pedal wear I believe it to be original mileage of 54,914
I will do my best to describe the condition as well as details of repairs made. I have thousands in receipts and documentation for parts purchased and any third party work performed since taking possession last year. I have purposefully chosen a 10 day auction to allow additional time (2 weekends) for potential buyers to coordinate a personal inspection, 3rd party inspection, and ridealongs, all of which are encouraged. $500 deposit due within 24 hours after auction ends, no exceptions. Please have your finances in place before bidding and be prepared to complete the sale. International buyers welcome but arrange payment and shipping in advance.

Phoenix Red (L32K) is the original color but there isevidenceof some paint work prior to 1989, there was some over spray here and there on some of the original seals (since replaced) although there is no evidence of any body damage, repaired or otherwise, that I have found. I personally think the paint looks better in pictures than in person, a couple of little dings but mostly the paint is faded and has imperfections after polishing, looks good from 5-10 feet away.

Here is a brief video I threw together using a borrowed GoPro, footage was taken this week (disregard the date stamp) excuse the crudeness, I have never made a video before but just wanted to show it in action.
Ifyou'reinterestedhere is brief history on how the 914 came into my possession and why I am selling it.
For several years I had been driving by this 914 which was visible and sitting off highway 99 at a construction business. Sometime in 2005 I decided to stop and inquire about it. The employees said it was the owners car and gave me his cell number. I called and said I had seen the car sitting for several years and if he was interested in letting it go. He said he wasn't and he had plans to fix it up for his daughter. Several months later the business moved/closed and the cardisappearedalong with it. Fast forward 10 years later to summer of 2015. I was looking for a new project and starting calling all my old 914 contacts I hadaccumulatedover the years. I called this guy and said - I don't know if you remember me or not but you used to have an orange 914 off highway 99 that you were going to fix up for your daughter, I was wondered if you still had it. He said he did and that he never did fix it up and it was just sitting next to his house. I asked if he was interested in letting it go now and he said he was so Iarrangedto meet up with him the next day, we made a deal and I had it towed home. I spent the next 6 months getting her road worthy and have put 1,400 uneventful miles on her since then with the longest being 120 non-stop miles from Fresno to Atascadero when we moved.
After much thought I've made the decision to find her a new home. My life has taken an interesting turn in the last few months with a new job opportunity which allowed us to move to the central coast area, so we have a new house and new priorities. This is my 5th 914 but hopefully not my last. I have saved a few others like this one and I am just happy to see another one on the road and in good care.
