1987 Porsche 928 Additional Info:
1987 Porsche 928 S4 in Venice Blue Metallic (L 35U) with linen interior and blue piping. The car always runs/starts and has been stored in a heated garage in Chicago for many years. I had the engine thoroughly gone through in spring 2018 at with the replacement of a new water pump, timing belt, and injector ECU from Specialized ECU Repair in Florida (warrantied for 5 years). Engine had a complete service (receipts available) to the tune of $3K+. New battery in Fall 2018. I have probably driven the car a half a dozen times since last fall and it always fires right up, runs well, and goes anywhere without a problem. Car starts, runs, sounds, and drives great. Brakes are in good shape. This is a good, honest, original survivor with two previous owners. The Paint is original except for front bumper which was repainted and has a scrape on it otherwise paint shows very well elsewhere. No major scrapes/dents/rust etc. The interior needs a good detailing and there is one tear in the driver’s side seat bolster but otherwise there is no other damage to the interior except for some minor cracks on top of instrument cluster (which does not require the expensive and time consuming removal of the entire dash should you decide to replace it). Some of the threading for the steering wheel leather has begun to let go but should be an easy fix. This car really needs a little TLC which I just haven’t had the time for. Speedometer, tach, and temp gauge all work. Fan and HVAC work, a/c has not been checked but worked a few years ago. Headlights and all turn signals/brake lights function properly. Both front windows work, sunroof, and all power seats and door locks function properly but sometimes take a few pushes on the switches which leads me to believe the contacts need to be cleaned. Again, a little TLC will go along way here. An OEM fog light is included to replace the passenger side fog light that is cracked. The car has a clean Carfax and mileage appears accurate but odometer and gas gauge currently don’t work. It did work when it went into storage and this appears to be a common well document problem for these cars. We believe mileage to be accurate given its condition and Carfax. We have only put maybe 50 miles on it in the last two years. Car had brand new tires put on it a few years ago but they have been sitting for a couple of years so you may want to replace them. Car is stored in my garage in downtown Chicago. It is currently registered in Maine where I was going to move the car but I have decided to put it up for sale instead. I have a clean Maine title in hand. Spare tire, books, and tools all present. I have tried to describe the car as accurately as I can. We have had many classic cars over the years so please email with any questions and check my feedback.
