1983 Porsche 944 Additional Info:

Update 7/28/18: I have put 400 miles on the car in the past two weeks due to my daily driver being in the body shop. I haven't had any issues, the car runs great.
I parked next to another 944 the other day and I noticed the front bumper apron on the passenger side is odd looking. I looked under the car and noticed the bracket that holds the apron is misaligned, I aligned it and it looks as it should. I've added a before and after picture, a good eye can notice this in the original pictures.
Update 7/22/18: As requested, there is a picture of the sticker containing options and a picture of the receipt for timing belt job. I'll answer some questions I've been asked:

I've been asked twice now for the reason of me selling the car, since it seems to be suspicious of how little miles I've put on the car since owning it and all the work/money I've put into it. I'm currently a PhD student that has a stipend that won't last my whole term, so the money from this car will go towards tuition. I also live within 10 miles of four great driving roads, one of them is in the video. The car frequents them on the weekends!
The car is titled and registered to the state of New York and it's located in Ohio with me, I'm a student, so you can do the math.
Hope that answered some of the questions!

Video of me driving the car is now available: https://youtu.be/06tsOu_QSoY

Hello all,
For sale is my 1983 Porsche 944 in Guards Red. I picked up this car in November 2016 at Long Island, New York. At the time, the car was in good condition, although it did sit for a matter of years, it was tired and needed work. The previous owner did the brakes (pads and rotors), fuel pump/filter and crank position sensor a few weeks prior to me purchasing it.
One of the first things that I had change was the timing belt, I had this done by a Porsche specialist, whom also gave the car a look over. All the front seals were good, along with the water pump, only the timing belt and serpentine belt was changed. Throughout the ownership of the car, I've changed a few parts to give the car life and suit my driving style. The way I approach this car was that I wanted to keep it as OEM as possible, meaning I wanted an authentic 1983 sports car experience, typically I tend to go the stiff suspension and loud route for the track, but I've already had plenty of that. Mind you this car was never tracked, but this a drivers car, through and through.
Instead of talking about everything and why I changed it (engineering background), I'll put a formal list of parts changed.
Fixes/parts replaced:
Shocks/Struts (Boge OEM)
Ball joints, new lower control arms, control arm bushings and top mounts
New inner and outer tie rods
New Firestone tires
Fuel pressure regulator, fuel gauge sender
Spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor and rotor
Alternator rebuilt and new Diehard battery
Rear wheeling bearings changed
Front seats bottom reupholstered
Clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder
New catalytic converter and Dansk cat back exhaust (Not loud, but sounds good)
Flushed engine oil, brake fluid and transmission fluid
New Air-Oil-Separator seal, rear camshaft housing seal
Replaced misc. vacuum hoses
Engine mounts
Thermostat and thermistor changed
Radiator professionally cleaned, and coolant flushed.
New head unit and speakers (all of them!)
New fuel level sending unit
Seals changed on sunroof, hatch and taillight
The car itself was repainted at one point in its life, the repaint job was decent, I'd give the car a 7/10 for paint. The car does have some door dings on both doors that I never had pull. In terms of interior, this car is pretty good, it does have the dash cracks, but the carpet still looks good, save for a tear on the passenger side (floor mats would cover it up, original ones couldn't be saved). I had the front seat bottoms reupholstered, their good as new. The stereo on the car was shot, so a new head unit and replacement speakers went in.
Engine is great, there is nothing wrong mechanically with the car. Doesn't burn or eat oil. The clutch was changed at one point in its life, judging that this car is low miles, it has plenty of life left and it feels great. This is my spirited weekend car, I live 5-10 minutes from three great driving roads and it only sees those roads. I've commuted with it sometimes, but it feels silly, this car doesn't want to be driven normally, it wants to be taken to the curves.
Issues: The only real issue this car has is the lack of hydraulic shocks on the rear hatch, the previous owner put new shocks and they caused the glass to separate from the hatch frame, this is a common issue on 944's since the frame is weak and flexes. I had a hard time to find someone to reset the glass on the frame, no glass shop wanted to do it because they knew it would happen again with new shocks. So, I simply left the shocks off the frame; there doesn't appear to be much of a solution, unless you were to go around buying hatches that didn't flex, or if you could strengthen the current hatch. Currently the glass is sealed to the hatch and there is no issue of rain or air entering the cabin.
A/C doesn't work, I never investigated the issue. On cold starts the A/C bearings will squeal for a few seconds seconds and then go away.
The power side mirrors don't work, and the antenna doesn't extend upwards, I honestly never investigated fixing them.
Lastly, there is no rust on this car! When I bought the car, there was rust bubbling on the bottom passenger fender, I took it to Sells Autobody, since they do all things rust, they cut off rust, welded and painted a new piece of metal. Bring your jack stands and jack to see for yourself!
I also have the receipts for all the maintenance done and parts bought for this car!
Make me an offer!!

Let me know if you have any questions, or if you're local and would like to see the car. I'm located in Germantown, Ohio. Shipping and its related charges are buyers responsibility.

Thanks for looking!
