1965 Porsche 911 - The Blue Meanie
September 1965 build, just out of 33-year ownership is this great old SWB 911 old school hot rod. This 911 was restored in 1985 to be a potent autocross car. The original matching numbers aluminum case 2 liter has been bumped to 2.7 liters. The gearbox is the original with hill climb gears. There are lots of neat tricks such as shortened aluminum trailing arms and updated suspension. The window frames are later alloy versions. The rear flares are RS while the front fenders are flared LWB. The body and paint are from 1985 and look great overall. The tub is very solid throughout. Pans were replaced in the '80s. The Minerva blue paint just gleams however it does show its age in places. The seats are recent Vintage seats, The dash is all original with European instruments. The rest of the interior is a mix of original and old replacements. The car runs and drives very well. It has had recent service and new Pirelli P6000 tires. This great old Eleven can be driven and enjoyed just as it is and being fully matching numbers it has the possibility of restoration or improvements in the future.
