1964 Porsche 356 Additional Info:
A FANTASTIC DRIVER THAT WAS RESTORED BY A WW2 PT BOAT CAPTAIN IN THE MID 80s.-I bought this car in April of 2010 from California. It has always been in a garage as long as I have had it. Once I recieved this vehicle, I did some research. I talked to the widow of the gentleman who had restored this car in NY in the mid 80s. He sold it to a builder in CO, and it eventually ended up in CA. When I got it, it had been sitting and just not being used. It was in great condition (not show car-but very nice driver), but I did a couple things, here they are. 1) I put a new SS exhaust on.2) I rebuilt the carbs and put a no joke Bosch fuel filter in the fuel line under the car. 3) I put a Precison Matters oil filter system on the car, so now there is REAL filtration for the motor-you can easily take off if you must have an orginal car. 4) I put Precison jack points on the car (pic shows), so I could better do maintenance on the car. 5) I put a dual system brake system with SS brake lines (Safety first) 6) I put on a Precison matters timing kit (in pic) 7) Car has optima battery and 6V battery tender 8) added aluminum oil pan (only use Brad Penn motor oil in-and only use Ethanol free fuel) 9) KN air filters (orginals come with car-in pic next to the COA) 10) tune up-valves, belt, plugs etc... 11) heavy duty floor mats-over the originals, that are perfect. I have babied this car, and it has completed a Mountain Mille in 2012. Get in, pump gas pedal 4 times, (If car has been sitting I have added fuel pump in engine compartment to move fuel-easy to remove if you want) turn key with foot off pedal, car fires up, let idle for a bit then give her gas and go. Never a problem. Only things not great, clock doesnt work, and in one pic you can see a bit of rust in door sill, but rest of car is SUPER SOLID, come look, its on my lift you can easily inspect any or all of it. With this car you will get a full tool set and jack as well as all the paperwork/books I have for the car as well as the COA-pics above. I will also put in any extra parts or accesories I have, its all in the pics, you wont be sad. The reason for sale is I travel too much now and just dont get to "play" with it anymore, its time for it to go to a new home. Reminder, this is an old Porsche, please understand that old cars are special, and you need to have basic skills, or know someone who does, although they dont get much easier to work on than this. If you are the winning bidder, pick up of vehicle will need to be on THE WEEKEND-unless we coordinate, as I travel. Winner will be responsible forpicking up and shipping-recommend dont cheap out on this, its too nice of a car. Payment will need to be transferred into my bank account before pick up and a $500 deposit is required. I am happy to talk if you have questions. Priced to sell, good luck, she has been a fantastic car....we will be sad to see her go, please have a good home for her. No Reserve.
