1971 Porsche 911 Additional Info:

Selling a 1971 Porsche 911E Targa. The car runs great and looks great.

The car was stripped and new metal added in 2005. The tail was added at that time. The seat covers were replaced and a section of velvet was added in the middle of the seats. The engine was replaced by a 2.7L engine built by Henry Schmidt of Super Tech Performance. This is a beefed up engine in 2003. There is a photo of receipt from Super Tech. The carburetors were rebuilt and updated to match the engine in 2009.
Being in Massachusetts, I did not drive the car much. I put on between 1000 and 1500 mile a year. The odometer reads 154000, but that is not the real mileage. The odometer and speedometer was never reset for the newer lower profile tires and the speedometer reads around 30% more than you are really driving. I bought the car in 1998 and it was like that when I received it, so I do not know what the real odometer reading is.

In 2013 the transmission was rebuilt with billet intermediate plate and billet differential cover, gears changed to A, F, O, V, ZA to provide more relaxed highway cruising on modern low-profile tires, new sychros and hardware in 1, 2 and 3 gears, as well as a new 1st gear synchro hub. The clutch-disk, pressure plate and throw-out bearing were replaced with new parts. I also replaced the shift linkage bushings, coupling and shifter stop plate. The rear motor mounts, axles and CV joints, and the brake master cylinder were all replaced.

I have attached a link for a Dropbox file that you can view many pictures.

There are a few minor chips on the hood and on the drivers door where the door hit my house when I would open it. There is also a minor leak from the bottom of the engine.
