I am offering my 1993 Porsche 928 GTS for sale!
Manual 5 speed
Just under 62,620 miles
Beautiful and rather unique light blue-green exterior.
A nicely accenting off-white and light--to--medium gray leather interior.
I have owned her since 2000, and she has always been garaged, well cared for and maintained.
She is still in excellent condition.
Pix & video are of her washed and the interior wiped down a bit, but she has not been detailed...she appears as she has been normally kept...clean. :) (The floor mats are the same ones that came with the car!)

Current Virginia State Safety and Emissions Inspections.
Additionally, I have the original netting and privacy cover for the rear cargo bay and the front license plate bracket.
I also have the original manuals and a file with all the maintenance records...naturally! :)
I have a fairly recent Carfax that I can provide which is "clean" as is the Auto Check provided here, but they don't show the complete history/service records of the car.
So here are the significant details on the car since I've owned her.
I had always wanted a 928 (like most of us that love these unique GT's--right?!), and when I started shopping, in the summer of 1999, I was excited to find a GTS for sale, relatively close to where I live.
Furthermore, it had a rather unique color combination that I thought was very attractive and was actually something I was looking for.
Interestingly though, the only thing I wasn't too keen on was the fact that it had a Stick, as I really thought I would prefer an Auto at the time! (There is actually a rather interesting story behind this, regarding my opportunity to drive a brand new Manual 928S in 1984, and then an S4 Auto in 1988!)
Anyway, since I certainly could drive a stick, I didn't let the fact that it was a 5 Speed put me off...I know, I was nuts, right?!
Upon inspection, I suspected it might have been in some kind of an accident(?) previously, as the tail fin had some cracks in the paint and I could see a very small sign of repainting in one spot on the bottom of the rocker panels when the car was up on a lift @ Vision Auto, Inc. in Lancaster, PA, where the car had been serviced previously...and where I met the seller and the car for the first time.
The seller and the service tech who put the car up on the lift, both assured me there was nothing wrong with the car and nothing shows up in the car's history.

However, other than the imperfections I have already mentioned--which I figured I could easily get repainted at some point--and a small crack in the windshield right where the rear view mirror attaches (which the seller told me came with the car when he bought it, and has remained the exact same size for the 17+ years I've owned it) everything else was just fine, and the car looked, drove and sounded fantastic!
The seller had an AP MSL Maximum exhaust system installed, which apparently breaths better than the stock system (which I still have) and has a nice, deep, resonant note.
Additionally, I knew that GTS's were quite rare and that the 5 speeds were even rarer--so the chances of finding one were rather slim--especially with a color scheme I really liked and with relatively low miles--just under 38,000 at the time.
Furthermore, I wasn't looking for, nor could I necessarily afford, a "Museum Piece". Rather, I wanted a nice, clean car that I could care for, drive and enjoy.
Therefore, all things considered, it appeared to be--other than the stick :)--an ideal 928 for me!
So since the seller offered me a reasonable price on the car, I became her new owner in the spring of 2000...and fully intended to keep her.
Over the next 4 years, I put a total of about 14,000 very enjoyable, trouble-free miles on the car...and everyone that saw it, thought she was beautiful, sounded great, and loved the color combination!
And not surprisingly, in very short order, I became exceedingly grateful that I had in fact, ended up with a 5-Speed! :)
During this period, all routine maintenance was performed by Curry's Automotive in Chantilly, VA.
Then on a clear, but quite cold night in late winter of 2004, with just under 52,000 miles on the car, while returning from having dinner with my folks--one of the few times I ever drove it in the cold, and certainly the last!--I spun out on an on ramp onto I66 here in Virginia and crunched the left side of the nose of my car into a "Jersey Barrier"!
I wasn't accelerating that hard, but a little bit of residual sand, along with very cold temps and tires--which I wasn't used to--apparently did the trick! Anyway, it was one of those "I can't believe this is happening" moments! :(
The damage was mainly cosmetic--confined to the left side of the front bumper--and the car was still drivable, but there was no doubt now, that my car had indeed been in at least one minor "accident"!
Anyway, after some extensive research and some recommendations from qualified car people, I ended up having the repair work done by Europros Collision Center in Gaithersburg, Md. http://europroscollisioncenter.com
The good news was, during the repair, the shop checked the entire car out to ensure that the frame and everything related, was straight and true.
Furthermore, it gave me the opportunity to have the rear fin repainted, too.
All told, it was a $10,000 repair that I paid for myself--it's amazing how much "cosmetic" can cost!-- but the car turned out great, and now I knew for sure, that even if it had been in a prior accident, there were no hidden issues with the car.
To validate this, in 2009, when the car had about 56,400 miles on it, I had her aligned--and she did so to spec--when I put 4 new Michelin PS2 Pilot Sport Tires on her...so the current rubber has about 6200 miles on it.
All told, I have put another 10,600+ miles on the car since the repair, and the car still looks, runs and drives great!
The last Oil Change (Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W30) was @ 60,879 at which time I had both the Manual Tranny Fluid and the Differential Fluid changed, so they all presently have about 1700 miles on them.
Also, there is one tool missing from the tool panel in back, which was missing when I bought the car, as was the spare tire air pump. Fortunately I have never needed any of the tools, nor the spare...and I wouldn't have ever run the car with it on, anyway!
Recently, I have had several additional things done to the car:
First, I had some minor paint work done on the car by Ray's Auto Body, in Vienna, VA.
(They were also recommended by the shop that works on my older Mercedes sedan and had previously done some great minor body & paint work on it--my Benz--for me.)
My Porsche had a minor scratch in the left rear quarter panel--clear coating, only--which I actually inadvertently caused myself :( with my snowblower trying to help a neighbor during a blizzard...long story!
Additionally I had a small amount of paint pealing off of the lower right portion of my front air dam where I had also inadvertently (gently) bumped into a 4/4 wooden parking barrier while parking the car.
This is something you have to be very careful about with these cars since they ride quite low and the nose is rather long. I had avoided doing this for almost 17 years and though I knew it when I did, everything still looked fine when I checked, and it was only after several months that I noticed a little bit of paint beginning to come off.
Anyway, they were very minor issues, the repair went well, and she's all back to "lookin' pretty" again!
Next I've had some extensive routine maintenance work done on the car by Autobahn Service, Inc. here in Fairfax, who are Porsche specialists.
This includes the following:
New Timing Belt, Tensioner Roller, and all associated internal maintenance.
New Water Pump--old unit was fine, shop recommended replacing it with timing belt.
New Air Pump--old unit bearings were beginning to "sing" a bit.
New Front Belts (all)
New Air Pump Filter
New Main Air Filter
New Hood Struts
New Radiator Cap
New Porsche "Lifetime" Antifreeze ($105!)
Converted A/C system from R12 to R134
New A/C Dryer
New Left Valve Cover Gasket, Grommets, Center Spark Plug Tube Seals and Crush Rings.
New Right Valve Cover Grommets
New Spark Plugs
New Top Antenna
New Duracell Battery
New Battery Tender--should have had one installed a long time ago!
And as an interesting point of note, the shop owner, Jose Herceg, who did all the work himself, told me that things inside the car's engine looked even better than he expected...for instance, the old timing belt still looked almost brand new!
All told, the shop work ran me almost $7,300, so with the paint work, I've recently put about $8600 into the car...but she's lookin' and runnin' great, as always!
Only other item I want to point out, is the CD player has somehow become disconnected from the radio. (I mention this in the video on my car)
I only recently discovered this--after I had all the work done on the car--for I normally never have the stereo on, as she is is only driven when I can keep the windows open, as I enjoy listening to the sound of the car! :)
As I've already mentioned, I always intended to keep this car once I found it--and may still do so--but a couple of unexpected transitions going on in my life, have caused me consider offering it for sale.

Next, my elderly parents will be moving in with me imminently and I could honestly use the space in my garage for my father's car.
Furthermore, I really don't drive her as often as I used to.
Therefore, after much soul-searching, I have decided to offer her for sale, with the intention of using a good portion of the proceeds to help fund the growing influence of my Forum.
Bottom line folks, is this: Though she is still not a "Museum Piece" (if you look closely, you can find a few very minor flaws here and there) she is still a very clean, beautiful, rather rare, well-maintained and great running car, with relatively low miles.
So if you are looking for a really nice GTS that you can care for, appreciate, drive and enjoy--as I have--and prefer one with a little more unique color combination--as I did--and also prefer one of the few that came with a Stick--as I do now--then this might perhaps be the car for you!
