1980 Porsche 911 SC Targa 2-Door Additional Info:
Listed for sale is a superb 1980 911 SC Targa in guards red with brown interior. The vehicle is a west coast car, which came east in 2013. It has just gone through a minor restoration, which included a new leather dash and re-done Targa top (including seals). Car drives beautifully and has a fully rebuilt engine from Tom Bruch of Bruch Motorwerke. Tom was a renowned Porsche specialist in Iowa, who was known for impressive race modifications and exceptional engine rebuilds. He rebuilt the engine in 1999 and upgraded the heads to a factory 3.2. As a result, the performance is impressive and this rebuild was done only 12,000 miles ago. With reference to paintwork, the guards red paint shines beautifully and has absolutely no bubbles or tell tale signs of a poor quality paint job. It was repainted in the late 1990's, but has been garaged ever since and seen only a few thousand miles since then as mentioned. One notable order feature is that the original color of this car is Ivory, a color that was available in the mid 1970's, but was a custom order color for the 911 SC cars. In the doorwell, one small spot has been left, which shows this underlying paint color. In the case this car is ever restored as a show car for instance, the original Ivory color would substantially increase value and set this 911 SC apart as a rare example among other SC cars. New features on the car include a restored AC unit, which means the AC is fully operational and blows cold. The AC system has new belts, hoses, and tubes. As mentioned, the targa top and headliner is freshly restored, dash is freshly recovered with brown leather, carpets are brand new and NOS german carpets. Radio and sound system is Blaupunkt, which has an Aux input for iPhones, etc. It functions very nicely. Seat covers were recently redone and look/feel great. Rear seats are original and in fabulous condition. Winshield seal was replaced with a correct seal from Porsche when dash was re-done. Tires have plenty of meat and were recently replaced. Brake pads were done only a couple thousand miles ago. Car is tight and free of rust. Do feel free to inquire with any additional questions. Beautiful car and exceptional performer.
