History
Originally purchased out west, this car spent most of it's life in California and later Oregon before coming to Illinois. The owner that brought it to Illinois enjoyed it for one season and had it serviced with Brad Mayeur at 914 LTD and then sold it to the current owner where it was used in the northern Illinois and Milwaukee area for the past 2 seasons.
Condition
The car retains all of its original body panels and received a repaint around 20 years ago. Clearly a western car as the photos show, and also garage kept, the car is EXTREMELY clean across the exterior and underside and is virtually rust free. The usual areas are super clean and crisp, and even the battery tray is in great condition. Overall, the paint is in good condition with the only blemishes being a few minor "stars" along the top of passenger rear fender, various chips, cracked paint at the base of the vinyl top on the passenger side, and a crack in the front bumper front a parking block. Overall condition of the car is very nice considering the age and mileage of the car.
Inward, the vinyl seats are in great condition along with the dash, console, door panels, and carpets. Again, considering the mileage and age, the interior shows little wear. An updated stereo system is in the ca and actually sounds great too. The targa top is original condition and shows the usual wear spots from riding in its cradle in the trunk for most of the time! No additional or original parts aside from what's pictured are included. No manuals are with the car but there are two keys included.
Mechanicals
This 914 is largely original with the usual engine servicing and updating. The clutch was replaced around 3,000 miles ago, along with a new fuel pump and general tuning. The original wheels have been polished and wrapped in Falken tires and also have around 3,000 miles on them. The car is lowered about 1" and features Bilstein shocks, but one item that will need to be addressed is the missing sway bar link on the passenger side. This is easily fixed and we can fix it need be but didn't know if the next owner wanted to add his own parts/fix.
