1959 Porsche 356A Cabriolet 1600S
This 1959 356A Cabriolet T2 (#150956 built in 1958) is completely restored to original specifications with original Silver Metallic color, red leather interior, and German square weave carpet. Harry Pellow, the Maestro himself, maintained this car at one time. She runs strong and straight and is ready to for your local club drives. This is nearly a new car with much new metal, rebuilt engine, new brake system, new interior, and all new electronics. This 60-year-old classic has no rust and is structurally strong. You can’t get closer to a new original 356 than this one with less than 900 mile since returning to the road.
Care has been taken to source materials from only top rated Porsche 356 specialists including Zim’s, Stoddards, Autobahn Interiors, YnZ, International Mercantile, and direct from Porsche. Many obsolete and hard to find parts have been sourced from donors and rebuilt to new conditions. The engine and carbs have been rebuilt to the original spec 75hp 1600S configuration.
All original receipts will be included with sale along with countless photos documenting the restoration.
This car is believed to have been imported by a Porsche dealer in Florida for showroom sale. Records contained in “The Maestro’s Little Spec Book” show that Harry Pellow, the Maestro himself, serviced the original engine (#82487) in March 1983. The current engine is not original as casting numbers indicate it came from a later model and the 3rd cover has been replaced without an engine SN stamped.
All colors and options match the included Certificate of Authenticity. All drive train, electrical, and body are in excellent condition.
The engine and transmission are not original nor is the hood, or deck lid. These components were sourced from donor cars and professionally fitted by Hamilton Classics, a 356 specialist in Martindale, TX well known in the 356 communities. Both doors are number matching.
