1972 Porsche 914 Paint Additional Info:
1972 Porsche 914 with restoration two years ago. Daily driven since then on weekends. Full mechanical restoration on this Pumpkin!
Clean title, never in a wreck, original California car it's whole life. Sat under a pole barn since 81' due to a bad motor. I purchased it in 2014 from a estate sale, restored it late 2015 and it has been sitting in the garage as drive it on sunny California weekends!Originally a 1700, upgraded to 1800cc with original fuel injection and OEM systems in tact except emissions aspect. New pistons and cylinders, bearings, seals and msc. on the rebuild.Original exhaust in great shape, no holes or rust as sourced California parts were used and aftermarket muffler and custom tips made. Heat works and all levers on dash function as intended to to draw in fresh air. It puts out great heat on those cold mornings!wipers work as should, washer fluid sprays but converted tire PSI system to electric and new tank system. Targa top reconditioned and works good. I have not replaced this seal but it doesn't leak...All rust repaired with new metal welded in as needed. Trunk area, floor pan, front trunk, hell hole uppers and lowers and msc. sheet metal. All body dents repaired but not perfect as this was a daily driver!Mostly original paint but some areas blended and single stage paint OEM was used (no clear)Mechanically, in great shape runs and drives great and as a Porsche should!Seats are new old stock and are in perfect shape. no wear, cuts or holes. rear pad in equally god shape but recovered and restored. Center council reworked and recovered. custom center panel removable and fits like a glove.New carpet kit installed inside interior including both trunks re-carpeted as well.New shocks with new springs, new tie rods and front chassis frame bushings replaced. Note: should change the engine mounts soon but ok for now.Custom front and rear bumpers handmade from steel and fiberglassed over the top. Tough and strong.ALL functions of this car work, horn, turn signals, lights, heat, blower motor, seat belts, radio- No electrical gremlins!New battery and starter, fuel pump, blower motor, coil, spark plug wires, hoses, gas lines from tank to engine, fittings, throttle cable, clutch cable to keep you on the road and prevent any breakdowns. I did it all at once not piece by piece.Newer tires on front, back ones 65%Front rotors and pads replaced 500 miles ago. Older cd player but works great with new 4" speakers under dash w/ tweeters.I drive this on the weekends up and down Hwy #1 with my wife but we have twin boys so this doesn't fit in our life currently. I hate to part with it and want this to go to a good home as I spent hundreds of hours underneath this thing. Any questions just ask!
I will post a video and more pictures of the underside over the next few days so keep an eye out for that.
