Numbers Matching Porsche 911 Slant Nose with Factory Metal Conversion.
Reserve is $9,999.00
My ex - wife has owned this Porsche since about April 1998 and I think she is the second owner. When we bought it we were told by the very reputable dealer that it had been ordered and converted using factory metal to convert the car into a Wide Body Slant nose. I was told that the car was sold new as a slant nose. This is not a “Special Order Works” option vehicle (no non-turbo cars are) but the conversion was commissioned by the dealer. I acquired the car in my divorce and was always planning to restore it but it will be some time if ever that I get to it so I am offering it up to someone who can give her the love required. Drive or collect as a survivor or restore. This is not some tired car that someone put some lipstick on. This is not a Frankenstein assembly of aftermarket parts and a body kit. This is a document-able collectible piece of history. Numbers matching always leads in value. Here is what I know.
Pros:
Black on Black numbers matching
US Car not Grey Market
No accident history!
Factory metal conversion!
1985 was the only year of welded wide-body!
Engine, trans-axle never has been removed and original matching synchro’s are still in the trans-axle
No whine in any gear or linkage issues
Steel conversion done 32 years ago
Solid floorboards
Real Gotti wheels ($2,500 each in 1985) One rear has a bent lip but easily repairable.
Factory Porsche whale tail
All glass is good. All original except windshield which delaminated and was replaced.
Seats are all good. Some hardening on passenger seat.
Electric windows work.
Original spare tire never on car.
Just a factory quarter panel will cost you 5K per side and the fenders if you could find them who knows.
Cons:
Always ran up until about 3 years ago, when it did not for the first time ever. My mechanic said the computer needed to be repaired and it just sat since then. Pretty sure there are no issues with the motor.
Needs paint. Actually needs to be stripped down and repainted to bring the car where it should be.
Carpets are serviceable but should be replaced.
Headliner is separating at the zipper for sunroof access. Should be replaced but serviceable as is.
Sunroof leaked so someone put silicon to seal it. Motor works but slow. Needs tracks cleaned.
Someone tried to steal it once and tore up the front valence. It is all there to be straightened or would need to be replaced. It also pulled the front bumper out a bit.
Original radio was stolen.
There is cracking in the paint and some filler on the hood.
Dent in back below whale tail (not part of bonnet)
Heater has been disassembled and will need to be put back in.
Do not miss this chance to own a numbers-matching iconic black on black wide body Slant Nose Conversion.
